Honestly im not sure.
My parents never forced me to eat healthy/workout, in fact they didnt give a shit about it and I turned out just fine.
What I fear is that if I get the kid into healthy lifestyle, later in life when hes older hes gonna become a fat fuck overcompensating for the lack of unhealthy shit he had as a kid. But what if I don't restrict my kid? Will he become fat and never get fit?

In her defense I was a sickly child and would catch colds all the time but she wasn't smart enough to realize that sport would have strengthen me in the long run. When I was 15 I kinda of parted ways with her paranoia and started swiming.
