Hi Jow Forums, I'm 23. I went to the doctor today and got an ultrasound and basically I have dual sided grade 3 varicocele. I don't think I have any problem with testosterone (lots of facial hair and body hair, get horny easily) but I haven't had it checked. I honestly don't care about infertility. It occasionally aches for weeks and then I don't notice it for weeks.
He's referring me to a urologist but he said that I should think about whether I want surgery or not. Apparently surgery can leave you immobile for days, there can be complication and varicocele can come back even after surgery.
Has Jow Forums had any experience with varicocele?

It is enlargement of your testicular veins. It can cause no problems but it can also cause pain, infertility and low T. There are no serious side effects besides maybe low T
I had one, on both sides. The issue with test only comes from if you had it bad as a child and it stunted the growth of your balls. This is unusual so you are probably fine. I got surgery on my because it caused me pain mainly while lifting. It's only a couple of weeks of recovery and the pain reduction was worth it. Yes it can reoccur, but it's rare. I felt some residual pain more than a year after and the doc told me that it hadn't reoccured but their might always be some lingering pain. In short get it if you want less pain and to potentially increase fertility. The extra heat can reduce fertility but given that almsot 20% of the popualtion has a varicocele to some degree and the percentage of infertile people is much less, you are probably ok.
How long do you think you had it before you got surgery?
I noticed it when I was about 18 and got the surgery when I was 20. I was lifting heavier so the pain got to a point where I wanted to get rid of it. Might've had it for longer but idk. Your case sounds very similar to mine
Experience from 36, 10 years surgery ago manlet:
> I have dual sided grade 3 varicocele.
Is common to have left side, but not right. My surgery was only left side even when I have right side too.
> I don't think I have any problem with testosterone
I have just little more than minimum, almost no facial hair, no body hair. But that is shit compared to not have quality spermatozoids, I only had 20% of them on all my semen, after surgery raise to 48%
> I honestly don't care about infertility.
Is up to you.
> It occasionally aches for weeks and then I don't notice it for weeks.
When I detected it it hurts a lot, urgency at hospital. If don't hurt it doesn't mean you have a problem, because IS a problem.
> he said that I should think about whether I want surgery or not.
Is not about is you want, is not esthetic, it can be complicated after years. Go to specialist.
> Apparently surgery can leave you immobile for days.
Obviously, you receive epidural injection. After surgery you can't do pressure in abs zone for a long time. You will walk with diarrhea every time, almost 2 weeks.
> varicocele can come back even after surgery
Yes, currently I have a hot water bag beside my varicocele right now, it hurts.
> Has Jow Forums had any experience with varicocele?
Please take care about them. Doesn't hurt while sex, but when flirting and have dick hard by hours while playing with your mate before act IT HURT and even hurt so bad that you can't continue and have to stop, no alfa male can support the pain and the shame.
And do no-fap: dick bigger needs constant blood pressure, the responsible of varicocele. Avoid exercises that do pressure in the zone and prepare your body to support pressure as it should, i.e. don't lift over weight and do them well.
Sincerely, user

23, had one on my left side since I was 17 (around the time I started lifting). I think it's grade two. Never felt any pain and only notice it badly if I'm sitting down in the summer heat for a while. If you're feeling any pain then surgery is an obvious must, luckily I've never had any.
You had ultrasound ...on your ballsack?
Doppler maybe?
29 y/o boomer, found a varicocele on my left side also at age 23. I suspect now that it was from too much fapping, and/or being a poorfag and riding a bike to work everyday. Or I may have overdone it with the "cum booster stack" shilled by Jow Forums, especially the L-Arginine since that has some vascular effects.
>ultrasound
I also got the ultrasound on my nuts - but because I thought it was testicular cancer. I did not get diagnosed with varicocele because I think awareness 5 years ago was not as high, and military doctors did not want to spend too much time looking at benis / balls.
>the surgery
About the surgery... they extract your testicles OUTSIDE your body through a slit in your abdomen, then shave off the swollen veins. After they shove it back in, your nuts swell to the size of oranges. Since the problem is caused by fugged up valves, it will certainly come back. You are risking a lot for little gain with the surgery IMO.
>experience
I found that nofap, ibuprofen, and a drug called aescin help: here its called horse-chestnut extract. When it gets swole, laying down horizontally also helps reduce the swelling. Mine swings between Grade II and III; I get a bad grade 3 after sex.
Had surgery for treating this april of this year. Dunno about the T levels, I'm 20 now and don't have much chest or face hair though I suspect that's because of genetics.
The first four days after the surgery were the worst ones, lots of pain, specially when getting up or sitting down. After that it slowly went away. Nowadays I only really feel anything if I run for too long, since the cut was near my crotch, but it's nothing unbearable. I also have a cool scar now which is nice.
i got varicocele at 17 when i started doing squats and 4 years after it doesnt bother me anymore,my testicles are just sensitive as fuck but they dont ache now varicocele hurting your testosterone levels is a meme unless like they said above its very bad
doppler color for flow heat location
Holy fuck I'm so sorry! Okay but like ookie buttlick
I have similiar situation you have i had left and right varicoceles the left one got taken care of but i think nothing really changed in terms of fetility its like 2% are even viable how long did it take for your fertility to improve and did you do anything else like excercise and stuff?
OP: I have found that compression shorts help a LOT. It's actually all I wear now. Find a style that is comfortable to you and cradles your manhood and maybe it will help. Bonus: girls have told me they think the athletic underwear is sexy because it grips your legs and ass. Good motivation for leg day.
>When flirting and have dick hard by hours while playing before act IT HURT
This happened to me as well. I first found out that I had a varicocele when I was 17. I walked home after spending a couple of hours hanging out and fooling around with this girl and when I got home the pain was excruciating. I ended up having to go to the hospital and they diagnosed it there.
I don’t have this but the veins on the bottom of my ballsack are blue and very visible only when my balls are in their very loose state. Is this normal? They go away when my balls are raised during sex. I don’t have any pain or anything
>There are no serious side effects besides maybe low T
I would say infertility is pretty fucking serious mate.
Had it, discovered a lump in my sac when I was 18, doctor told me it was just the veins pooling up. He told me to switch to boxer briefs. Was good but 5 years later it got worse. Would have terrible pain, would feel like I got punched in the sac. Got surgery, small cut in lower abs to tie off the vein, didn't need pain killers, just tylenol, my sac got swollen but after a few days it went down, two weeks later I was recovered. Was told not to nut for two weeks but a girl gave me a sympathy blowie a week after and it was fine. No problems since and feels good. As soon as you're recovered you notice it gone.
Yeah I had it done when I had mine. I had to take my pants off and put over one of those disposable cloth towels over my legs and penis, essentially just letting my balls come out of an opening like boxer flys. Was 30 minutes long or so, 15 minutes per side. They used a warm jelly which actually felt good and then they put a glass plate on them for the last bit which was cold. Girl doing it to was a qt. Not hot in the traditional sense but a decent good looking girl with a good career you'd take home to your parents. Had to think about school work to keep my mind off of a qt putting warm jelly over my balls and rubbing it in via the ultrasound wand.
Nothing, just surgery. My specialist doctor say that i have nothing to worry about %, always is possible, just care to not appear again. Heat in the zone affect spermiogenesis, this why is necessary surgery. But as you can see is necessary to avoid vein struggling, coagulation risk etc. Just avoid overweight, high blood pressure in abs zone.
What I see in my life that miracles happens (for good or bad lol).
Varicocele has nothing to do with test.
You should probably get it corrected, but talk to your doctor about these concerns and see if you have any other options.
You're gonna be fine, OP.
Boris is that you? How's Kvitova?
> compression shorts
Yes, my specialist say to use tight slips, avoid scrotum move free. Firmly but not overtight. Always, daily use, gym, swim shorts, etc...
> I ended up having to go to the hospital and they diagnosed it there.
I was coding in computer for a hard course work and then start to hurt. Urgency just send me home with some pills because we as famili had our urologist, so next day more than faster going to him, and exam.... and everything that I say here and :-/
No, sorry
