How much hair is normal to lose in the shower?
Its never been something I've much paid attention to, but I've been really freaked for the past month because I've noticed some thinning/hairline recession. For as long as I can remember my hair has "always gotten everywhere" and I never thought much of it. Just "Long hair, so its more noticeable" sorta deal. This was in the drain catch when I finished my shower tonight. The small ball is what I rolled up in my hand after shampoo/conditioner.
Shower hair loss?
I almost never lose my hair, you're going baldo bro
>I almost never lose my hair, you're going baldo bro
Is your hair long? Short?
Short usually, longer at front and top (12cm?)
So decently long I suppose for most guys. Dunno how noticeable your hair is if you get it on a shirt or something by comparison though.
I'd say mine is about 20in (50cm) for comparison though. Not sure if that matters much, but thats also partially why its hard for me to tell how much I am or am not actually losing. 3-6 hairs when wadded/balled up can look like a lot or hair to me.
If I am thinning/balding whats the best way to stop / reverse it?
I'm too much of a manlet to look good in bald hair. Its causing me some wicked stress, especially considering I was about to cut it all off and donate it and go with a more tight look.
If you have long hair, especially thick hair, thats normal, and such a fucking hassle.
Hair goes through normal growth and shed cycles, unless you can tell that your hairline is thinning or receding, it’s just normal shedding.
Which is part of the reason I was actually going to be cutting it all off soon. Though I'm worried that going with a shorter hair will just show me that I really am thinning / receding. Its already stressing me out as is with just this little bit.
Good to know I'm not losing abnormally large amounts of hair though.
I noticed a small circle, probably about the size of an eraser head in diameter near the front left of my head, that seems to be missing hair. This honestly has been driving me so crazy that I've been over analyzing and inspecting my hairline, taking photos, etc every day for the past month. I have not noticed much of a different on other parts of my head to be honest, but anymore I can't tell if I'm overreacting when I think I see something, or its actual thinning.
Afraid to bring it up with the lady friend because I don't want her to take notice of it if its nothing at all. She hates the bald/no hair look and loves my hair in general.
Creatine, not even once
>Creatine
I don't use Creatine.
I didn't even know what it was till I googled that.
To be honest I'm not a Jow Forums dude in the slightest. Its actually a goal of mine to change that, as part of an agreement with a good friend of mine, and to better myself in general.
that looks like a mole dude
I assure you its not. Its weird lighting or a little red or something from me touching/feeling/whatever it was.
>have long shaggy hair since i can rmr
>fucken stress caused my hairfall
>would see shit falling everywhere
>have dermatitis to make it shittier
>fucken shampoo causes my headtop to be drier than a 50 yr old bitch
>been a year
>still have shaggy fucken hair same as before and ony noticed looks slightly thinner cause of hair fall
> hairline barely receded
Moddy mods banned me
Go carnivore
I did the same thing as you once and started freaking about what I thought to be hair loss at the crown. Turns out, it was nothing, and I am not even predisposed to balding because my maternal grandfather kept his hair, and I’m 23 and have lost zero hair
You probably aren’t balding
I hope this is as a bad as it gets for me. The only person i know in my family who went bald is my grandpa. My dad has hair in his 60s now, my uncle the same. Both are thinned a bit now, but I mean they are early to mid 60s so it makes sense.
I know mine isn't really that noticeable to people, yet. But to me it is, since its something I see every day on my own head. Id rather stop this / reverse this now before its an actual issue.
My maternal grandfather is the only one I know in my family who did lose all his hair, ironically. Though I've read some things that state that theory isnt really justified. Can't say if thats true or not though. I'm also 27, goin on 28 soon.
This is fairly interesting. I eat like utter shit, and I've wondered if this was part of the issue. I've tried to make a conscious effort the past few weeks to eat less garbage fast food (I eat out probably 95% of every meal I eat) and have more healthy snacks as well. Also trying to consume more eggs, etc. Hoping it helps.
I find balls of my hair rolled into almost felt in my bed every few days. I wear my hair long, past shoulders. Looking at the top of my head, I still have a decent hairline, but it feels like the scalp is getting more visible.
>23
Give it five more years, mate.
Wow, that was fucking useless.
>get your vitamin D from the sun or supplements
Gee, really? Who could've thought.
Let me remind you that humans, just like animals, go through shedding periods, one in early winter, one in late spring. So unless you're living down under, you might see some hairloss right about now. It's fine. Drink water, don't wear hats ever, take your vitamins and hope for good genetics.
I have long thick hair past my shoulder and I sometimes pull out more hair than your pic and haven't noticed any thinning and recession. I personally wouldn't worry too much over it
>he doesn't know
I never wear hats, aside from a beanie to keep my head warm when i walk from the parking garage to my job.
I do tie my hair up though, but I've been trying to leave the ponytail looser to avoid loss/breakage.
That's far too much.
i have a close relative who is a hairdresser / barber, she says losing 100-150 strands of hair a day is normal (so if you dont wash it for like 2-3 days, some of those get stuck and it all comes out the next time you brush it or wash your hair and it seems like a lot), thats like the natural cycle of how the hair grows. Also you have long hair so it makes it seems like more as you said
what you should be looking for is thinning and receding hairline. If you are young, 18-20 your hairline might just be maturing though which is normal
either way if you are worried ask your barber next time, who most likely will know the difference
If you have long hair you'll lose a lot of it if you scrub your scalp while showering
I can supplement you vitamin D, if you know what I mean...
;-)
EVER. Throw that beanie away. Loose ponytails are fine, I do it three times a week when I squat.
Even for a 5 minute walk, my man?
Yeah I was aware of the 100ish stands a day thing.
Though I'm almost 28. I have been having a hard time telling if my hair like is actually thinning / receeding or if my nervousness about it is causing me to see things that's aren't there. I'll get a second opinion on it soon.
Stay mad hairlets
You lose your hair the same, you just don't notice it because it's shorter.
I seasonally lose hair, clumps like in the OP during Summer and less in the Winter, and my hair's like 2.5 ft long/with an N1 hairline. Same when I was a kid. Just eat fruit, vegetables and nuts and you won't have much to worry about, we naturally shed hair but unless you're finding actual bald patches it's not going to lead to hair loss. I know 80yo dudes with full heads of hair that bitch about their hair getting all over.
That's actually good news. My hair seemed to grow back after my Crohn's got under control and stopped taking medication that makes me go bald, but I was freaking the fuck out after seeing some stray hairs here and there.
I wash my hair regularly and I lose like 20 hairs.
You should be losing about 5 hairstrands per day max.
You do know that they don't grow back?
With 5 per day you still have some left around your 80s, double that and you are bald by 40, etc...
no it isnt. i have thick hair and have worn it long, never in my life has that amount of hair fallen out in the shower. a few strands at most
i can see virtually no hair loss during shower
i am also bald
I know how you feel, everyone is always conscious about their hair and looking at it all the time. I think my problem is i shampoo to much. I use peppermint tea(aka peppermint oil) + olive oil on my scalp and i would legit see like a 15% hair growth increase within 1-2 days of using it (im srs)
Im 22 yrs old if u were wondering or of it helps
What exactly is an N1 hairline?
And aside from that eraser head sized circle on the front left of my forehead that I posted, I haven't noticed any bald spots. I've been actively looking through my hair for them as well.
How long is long for you? Many guys say long and it's like above shoulder length, but my hair is over 2ft long. One strand of mine looped up can look like 3 or 4 of someone else's hair. Not saying you're wrong though just asking.
oh, nah my hair wasnt nearly that long
My hairline has thinned a little on top and receded slightly, but I'm 31 and still not bald so I got that going for me.
Haha, I have been losing this much hair almost daily ever since I grew my hair out.
It's normal, bro. I still have a full head of hair.
If you have short hair though, and you're losing this much? Yikes...
>I still have a full head of hair
But... Do you?
you look like an overgrown baby
Not true, you lose 50-100 hairs per day on average.
peppermint , minoxidil, tea treat oil, rogaine and RU-58841 are commonly used to grow hair, but I have a theory-
Use capsaicin extract on your hair , it doesn’t lower testosterone like all of the above, but is definitely a vasodilator.

Also try beet juice as it contains nitric oxide precursors which will dilate blood vessels of the scalp.
I can tell you're overweight just from seeing the top half of your head.
But...I do...?
For real though, I do. Checked for all signs of hair loss out of paranoia too. Hairline the same. Crown the same. I'm good.
user, I've shed enough hair to make several wigs, and yet it's exactly the same.
My old man's not bald either, so the chances of me being bald are pretty much zero.
Don't jinx it!
Shut eet down
thanks will try the beet juice out!
This is my head of hair and I lose 10-20 hairs per day.
None
Thats a nice head of hair, but honestly you may lose less than the 100 a day average, but I doubt its 10-20.
Kek'd
I'm not bald by any means, but the thought of it really freaks me out. So to think I may be showing early signs of it worries me.
A better pick of me from a distance, and then up close of the part that I recently noticed that bothering me here.
I haven't noticed any bald spots on any other part of my head. I've been trying to check regularly. My hair used to have a bit more lift like this, but I think the fact that its so long weighing it down has something to do with that.
Go home donald trum
>peppermint oil) + olive oil
Where do you buy peppermint oil? Any brand will do?
walmart and other health stores should carry it, its fucken expensive tho like $10 for 15ml? if you make like good peppermint tea (not no shitty tetley brand) its pretty effective imo.
you gotta mix it with olive oil though and pour it on ur scalp which is messy af. if u want u can buy the oil itself too or w.e
So you dilute it first then dilute it in olive oil? What concentration do you dilute it in olive oil?
Some days I can tug on my hair and nothing will fall out, other day I will gently run my hand through it and get like 10 hairs , I notice when my hair is greasy it falls out easy and after washing it's really "strong", also I have scalp psoriasis which fucks my shit up
hey colt
N1 is like no thinning
My hair almost reaches my nipples. I lose a ton of hair everyday and I have a long healthy young head of hair.
Can confirm you lose hair at the same rate as you normally do but you notice it more because hair is longer. The average is something like 50-60 hairs a day lost.
You’re good OP.
guys my hairline is receding slowly but surely, should i take the finasteridepill?
Shedding hair is normal and fine. Balding is when the regrowth becomes smaller and smaller with every new cycle. Pay more attention to your hairline density rather than the raw number of hairs. If the hair shaft starts getting thin then you can start to panic
I hope so mate.
Glad to hear it's not an abnormal amount. Though did you see the hairline pics I posted? Unsure if it changes thoughts or not.
Yeah I've been taking regular pictures for like a month now but haven't noticed much difference yet
yes
the sooner the better
I've got thick, longish hair and I probably lose about 1/5th of that when I have a shower. Get ready for baldness bro
nah man, totally normal, long hair falls out all the damn time, but it grows back, no worries
