How do I help my little bro continue into a giga chang.
I took him to the gym for the first time and he says he loves it which made me happy. Im 7 years older than him but I feel this is best time to start bonding with him. Imma start boxing as well to spar with him.
What style of program is most optimal and for a 13 y/o. Hypertrophy? Progressive overload with high intensity low volume? Is that even safe for him?

>>I couldnt even bench the bar at 16
Nigga wtf

Why do you have an asian brother?
Is he adopted?

>I couldnt even bench the bar at 16
What in the everloving fuck
Post body riceman

Helping an adopted sibling is literally getting cucked, fuck that

none of it matters. hes 5'9, life is over for him

If you're planning on doing boxing with weightlifting depending on how much you want to dedicate to boxing you'll probably end up doing low volume with high intensity so you dont feel tired for boxing sessions

I do boxing 6 times a week and I can only do 2 to 3 gym days max anymore like 4 days with a U/L split is going to put too much strain on your body and you won't recover properly and it's either boxing or lifting that will start lagging behind and if you're not getting proper rest then both will start to suffer so I suggest you plan how much you want to invest into it

Any begineer boxing routines?
I'm good at lifting, but my muscular endurance and cardio is pretty shitty, cardio mostly due to smoking earlier in life
I get really winded up after a 2 minute boxing set

the kid is fucking 13. what, did you stop growing at 13?

>Any begineer boxing routines?
honestly just do what your coach tells you and always focus on form you should pay attention to form>speed>power always focus on form first because that's where power will mostly come from

muscular endurance being pretty shitty is normal you just get better at it the more you do it but if you want to get better fast I suggest you incorporate these into your training

if your cardio sucks just to couch to 5k program you can download the phone app it's free and it'll get you the stamina you need fast and the program has been tried and tested just be consistent with it

Well, thanks a lot
Gonna try the dumbbell punching thingy, and that running program was exactly what i was looking for
Gonna finally get my bloatlord ass up and run for a while

goodluck and don't forget to have fun

yea, 13 inches

Im a chink too
thnx for the tips. I think my brother wants to be more of an athlete rather than a bodybuilder. Boxing with bodyweight and band stuff thrown in on his days off will probably be a good foundation for future gains and performance for him. He thinks developd lats look ugly. I'll probably invest more into boxing if I can't my body won't allow both to progress nicely since I want develop it as a skill to be confident with.

Man imagine getting this sort of head start at 13
Just dont fuck up his puberty

>Asian
It's already over for him, unfortunately.

if he is asian get him into the nearest weightlifting gym as soon as possible

Tell him to STOP boxing and get into lifting more weight and powerlifting. I was a state championship swimmer while I went into lifting weights at 12 so he has a lot of potential. Chances are he’ll have to stop other sports like I did when he gets more advanced. Don’t let him take any caffeine until he can’t progress without stims. Have him build a strong strength base and then get into bodybuilding if he wants to go that route. This is me now and in pic related:

Disregard the dislikes, I insulted some söyboy and he went through and disliked all of my videos yesterday. Good luck to your brother and god bless you for looking out for him.

Tell him vidya is bad for him long term and he's just wasting his time shooting pixels. Also make sure he's properly socialised.

no it isn’t wtf?
You have no idea what that term fucking means.

not op but why should his brother stop boxing?

>I couldn't bench the bar at 16

Read starting strength, follow barbell medicine after ss, they have a hypertrophy program.

Takes longer to recover and he needs that time if he’s serious about weightlifting. He should be wrestling if he wants more useful combat training.

Not OP, but I started lifting at 21 and I couldn't bench it either. It's not about strength, it's about mind-muscle connection (you are not adapted to the movement pattern)

Don’t start with SS, have him go into Texas method

Or the Jow Forums greyskull LP

Punching while holding dumbbells? Definitely wouldn't recommend. Sorta pointless and a little bit dangerous, since the weight is going down, not against the way you're punching. Not as much carryover as you'd hope. Only real sport specific thing it could work for is uppercut, and that's still dangerous since you could punch yourself in the face like Tyson Fury. Better to work against cables if you wanna build strength in the gym. Bret Contreras has some really good stuff on rotation work, which is what you want to really generate power
