You'd have enough impact from 1.5 fast walking.

A small one. I walk 6 hours about 3 to 4 times a week due to work. It doesn't really do much for cardio but it is calories out and since working there, pants and belts that used to be tight are kinda loose. Not sure if walking or gym lost more weight though.

20 minutes a day will have a bigger impact.

Depends entirely on how unfit you are. It's better than sitting on the sofa stuffing your face for 5-6 hours but walking when you're 300lbs is harder than walking when you're 120lbs.
