Anyone here sub 10% BF?

In this video (9:00) youtu.be/alQbuXUq-_U, Alex says that you might have ED of you’re sub 10% BF. Can anyone confirm?

If natural and you sustain a really low bf for a few weeks you may have sexual dysfunction. You would have to be a good deal lower than 10% though

He says you’d have ED if you’re at 8%. But why does this happen?

Body starts to cut corners and shut down non essential body functions. If you're very low body fat you'll also have weakened immune system and feel like crap all the time. ED would probably be the last of your concerns, and it's not like you get to sub 10% bf for girls in the first place. Being shredded is nice and stuff but it comes with a price.

B-but Jeff is 6%

I’ve never experienced sexual dysfunction at low body fat op

what is this a picture of...?

An elbow (not mine). Here’s a picture of my right calf

i thought it was some kind of butthole

I don't think he's actually citing anything other than anecdote for that 8% figure. It's probably lower than that for some people or non-existent.

My guess is that it has to do with very low aromatase, which is normally secreted from body fat. Aromatase converts testosterone to estrogen and helps to increase estrogen levels. So when you have extremely low body fat, you have low aromatase and low estrogen.

While men are usually trying to lower estrogen, you need some amount of estrogen and very low levels will impair sex drive. My guess

49 yo male. 8.8% to 9.2% typically, a little more late in winter, a little less by September.

Never had a problem, thankfully.

I know some bodybuilders who lose their sex drive and cant get it up when they get ready for shows.
When I was cutting weight I had less of a sex drive but I was still poppin willies.

No. This simply isn't true. I'm naturally quite lean and once I started lifting in highschool I got to around 8% and never had issues.

I used to be real into mountaineering, went to Chile, Argentina, and Ecuador to climb in the Andes. When I worked as a guide I'd lose weight out in the field and end up very very lean again, and still no dick problems.

They are on drugs that totally supress natural testosterone production. They cut T towards the end to help lean out. Obviously that is going to make it hard to get your dick up.

assuredly wrong. been ~6-8% bf for years and havent had a single issue

Yeah but those guys are going to be on so much fucking gear, diuretics, anti-estrogens and thyroid hormones you couldn't say it's really just from being at a low bf. I probably couldn't get it up if I were super dehydrated

>trusting ANYTHING Jeff says

>assuredly wrong. been ~6-8% bf for years and havent had a single issue

Post body

hormone production takes a whack in extended hypocaloric states

What if I eat at a caloric maintenance and do a lot of cardio? I can’t believe pretty much all pro athletes have ED
