Bulk to 15%, cut to 10% is the meme. Eric Helms argues that there's no interference with building muscle up to around 20%, but after that you can become insulin resistant, plus excess body fat can cause your test to drop and your estrogen to rise.

Sweet spot for bulk gains without doing enough damage that it’s too hard to reverse is 17%.

Get a caliper, don’t trust electro scales. 17% for bulk and 12% for cut and you’ll always look decent without shocking your body.

Just eat at 200-300 above maintenance for months and you'll only gain a couple of percentage points of bodyfat you can lose in like a month and you'll be bigger than when you started
