>Decide to join the Navy in august >Already enrolled in the semester and have funding for the school year >Figure I'll use the school year to train >5' 10" 210 lbs >Keto and cardio bring me down to now 183.8 today >175 by Christmas hopefully >decided to start lifting >go to planet memeness because poorfag >try to go early so only the elderly are there >Place is packed with swole dudebros >Instead of doing chest I do Bis/back so that I don't look like a sperg benching 25lbs on a smith machine >Go home do pushups >GF wants to go run later >"Ok maybe now that it's midday there wil be fewer people" >15 30 y/o boomers blasting disturbed working free weights off the rack and squatting in the smith machine >Do 30 mins on elliptical instead
How do I gain the confidence to do the workouts I actually want to do? How can I best train chest for pushups at bootcamp besides pushups?
Seriously bro get over yourself. When I first hit the weight room I weighed 50kilos and benched the empty bar for 10 reps. Nobody fucking cares. Nobody gave me shit. And if anybody does then they are fucking faggots.
Nobody is going to judge you because everybody started where you are now. And if someone does judge you then they are the ones with a chip on their shoulder and not you.
Henry Howard
You judge the youth as dude bros then judge the adults as boomers, go fuck your self and your fat gf. I hope you die in the navy
Just embrace being a beginner and strive to learn. just do what you plan on doing and if someone is there, ask for advice. It isn't rocket science.
Eli Perez
Do good research to learn proper form, rom, etc and no one will give a shit how much weight is on the bar. The only ones that get judged are half-reppers and ego lifters.
What are your goals for the navy pst?
Caleb Green
im gonna be honest bro, i cringe whenever i see skinny fags try lifiting. I know i shuoldnt, i just cant help myself

This
If anyone laughs or talks shit, just chuckle at them. Make sure they see you and know you're chuckling at them. Dont force it, but make it obvious enough. Nothing pisses people off more than when their attempted insult gets no reaction out of the recipient, and they just get laughed at as if they're a fucking ant.
Matthew Russell
Just reaffirming this. Even the dudest of bros at the gym are focused on themselves and not you. In fact, they're usually pretty nice. I'm an anti-social skinny fat but the dudebros at my gym are some of the friendliest people I know. They know their shit too, so if it doesn't spill your spaghetti, say hi and make friends.
I guess since you're going into the Navy soon, they'll teach you not to sperg, so whatever.
Thanks for your future service.
Nolan Lee
Ideally I need to do 72 or so pushups and run a mile and a half in 11 minutes, but at minimum I need 47 pushups and a 1.5 time of 12 minutes. I can do 37 pushups right now but towards the end they're cheaters and my mile time is total ass

I’m in the navy actually. You’re gonna lose a lot of gains in boot camp. Just focus on getting your sit ups and push ups good, and run time down. That way you can at least come out of there an e-2. Btw what rate did you choose?
Austin Butler
Because posting, viewing, and critiquing mostly nude images of other muscular men on a Laotian trading card forum is the epitome of a man
Hudson Morales
you have access to the navy fitness tests. DO the tests and train for them you retarded boot
Alexander Sanders
I did JROTC in high school and have over 70 credits so I"m E-3 for sure. Haven't signed any paperwork yet but I'm looking at either CTR/T/M, IT or HM

If you are looking to join the military using weights is worthless until after you get through all the boot camp stuff. Just do pushups, pullups, situps, run and then walk with a weighted backpack
Leo Watson
How did you get a girlfriend with that level of social anxiety?
Camden Sullivan
I'm going to dust of an ancient chestnut.
"The people who matter don't care and the people who care don't matter". Stop being a homo and do your shitty weights, you'll improve quickly if you keep at it.
Jason Hernandez
Everyone likes to see a newcomer in the gym, if anyone in there cares all it does is make them feel better about their progress, not feel contempt towards you. In any likelihood they'll be fully willing to help or give advice too. Those who take fitness seriously are a pretty small group and a lot of us realize that and want to be supportive.
Evan Hill
Don't worry the worst anyone will do to you is pity you in their thoughts or think about how much better than you they are but that is why it is your job to prove their thinking wrong.
Jack Howard
Good shit. I’m hm right now, attached to a infantry marine battalion. Pretty based, they don’t go anywhere without bringing their own gym
Isaac Kelly
how do you have a gf. you're clearly a pussy. must have a nice face and be 6 feet.
Tyler Williams
Are the advancement rates as fucked as I heard they are? I've heard making hm3 is hard as shit.
