No, what changes is whether *the* people own capital or a very few individuals with no accountability to the rest. Think of feudal times, a nation can sustain itself as long as everyone has food to survive. For example: England's population remained constant from the late 13th century until the 18th century. But this means living on the bare minimum.
Globalism can be great for some and really bad for others. Greece's economic collapse was partly due a large percentage of their population being farmers and their products were no longer in demand after joining the EU because cheaper products could be found elsewhere.

We are living in a system that requires constant GDP growth for no real reason (it doesn't really make a difference for the common people). But when we are so reliant on the system as we already are a collapse of said system would mean a huge difference for the common man.

So consumer capitalism and globalism = good and bad (duh)
So how will we change it? Communism or feudalism? No thanks.
