Track and Genes

I joined the track team but my genes are pretty shitty I think. I ran a 15 second 100, and after about 3 months of hard training, it became 14 seconds. All of this was in tennis shoes and no starting blocks. So it is pretty clear my genes are shitty, but how much do you think I can improve on my 100m time with these genes?

learn proper sprinting mechanics and realize you run like a retarded nigger. Running is nothing more than really fast jumping ( and you can't jump on your heels faggots).

Speed= Strength + Turnover X Proper Biomechanics

film yourself running, put it in slow motion. Then watch Pro sprinters in Slow motion and see what you are doing wrong.

t. 10.3 100m lad

the reason those blacks run so fast is both genetics (but not much) and altitude. all of them come from high mountains.

I guess I will look out for it but I mean I do most of my practice in the supervision of my Coach, and he does point of things if I do them wrong.
I guess maybe I am losing form when I'm doing an all-out sprint for timing, where the Coach is timing me, incapable of pointing out form mistakes.
Also, great time

>isn't immediately successful
>blames it on "shit genes"
The only thing i can guess that are wrong with your genes would be chromosome count.

Depends on how old you are and if you’re overweight.
I’m going to guess you already have decent fitness and are around 19, in which case, I can almost guarantee you that you’ll never break the 11-11.5 area even if you train hard, get great sprint conditioning, use blocks and spikes, etc

Used train with a dude who ran 11 flat. He barely trained, had zero diet and a beer belly.

I was a hurdlefag.

Need more info buddy

Spikes help as well as blocks with dropping but not by much if not hinder you if you can’t use them properly. Honestly it depends on current form and running shape. I’ve competed with athletes a hell of a lot more fit but running form was ass.

Also people all wanna be the 100m sprinter but it just might not be your event.

Current D-2 NCAA relay fag and hurdle tripper

you got it confused, long distance runners are from altitudes

i saw this vid on another thread and its speed looks impressive to me, i think this is a real sprinter but the guy who posted it on /fit is a larper

how does looks fast like

i think its good technique but not sure

That guy is probably about a low to mid 12 sprinter, I’m not certain though
His technique is a bit off, he pops up too quickly and his legs and arms are sloppy

That's just a normal sprint, doesn't look like he is working on running far and fast, but as fast as he can manage till he cant anymore.

if within those 11 steps he covered 18-20 meters thats world class speed

16-17 above average probably low 11

14-15 meters a 12 second sprint

those strides are HUGE and fast im not sure but those are probably 18 meters...

whos that guy ?

i have seen some elite sprinters start and he takes the same amount of steps the first meters

youtu.be/ecpBJ-DLziM

youtu.be/Uuyx2vFQig0

his steps looks explosive and his body pop up the ground fast

12 and 11 second sprinters dont start like that

see the dust at min 0:03
see how fast he pops up

i know 12 second sprinters and 11.9 and they are nowhere close, that start is ridiculous

Obviously he's got room to improve but with those times sprinting isn't his strong suit. I can't sprint either so switched to middle distance.

I'm 15
Yeah I've been looking into the 400m, but I'm a manlet(5'7") and that is way more of a disadvantage there. But you need a moderately impressive 100m to be a good 400m Sprinter anyway.

I can run 100 meters in 13 seconds after not training for a long time, do I have good genes for this shit? I'm not black btw.

switch to longer distances the 100 is trash, run the 400 and up

Sprinting is mostly genetic, if it takes a coach 3 months to shave a second off your abysmal 100m you might want to look into long distance.

For the sprintfags here: don't kid yourself into thinking you'd have stuck around training if you had an inherent disadvantage like OP. He's going to be outfucking done by firsttimers no matter how much time and effort he decides to waste.

You're welcome.

Lol OP how old are you? What was your fitness like before this?

3 months of training is nothing.

Shit genes? Maybe in the sense that you have probably have a low IQ but there are a ton of other factors that would cause your time to be as they are that aren't related to genes.

Jow Forums is entirely too obsessed with genes and testosterone levels. They blame their failures on shit like that with no basis for it.

user. You aren't some super prodigy that can can conquer with no ep. No one is. That's a fantasy.
The people who Excell at things with no seeming effort are the ones who lead a life where they laid the groundwork where they excell with little training, or work hard at their craft

Your life your epigenetics(everything that lead to how you are now) creates the person you are now

>I'm a manlet(5'7")
Long distanc0e, 5k and up, is the solution then. The top runners are all manlents

As I mentioned before, I’m 15.
My IQ is probably double yours btw
But anyway, I am not concerned about low testosterone, but for sprinting, you need a lot of fast twitch muscle fibers, which is purely genetic. After I’ve started sprinting, I can kinda tell that I am more slow twitch dominant than sprinters in my school because:
1)My sprints are slow and haven’t barely went up
2) My standing vertical jump and broad jump distance is pretty pathetic, especially for someone on track
Also if you agree my genes are bad, how fast can I do the 100m? Will it be moderately okay for the high school level, because I do enjoy track.
I don't quite understand you, but I think you are trying to say that unless one is a super-prodigy, everyone needs to train hard to succeed?
Yeah, maybe I have to accept this hard truth...

>my IQ is probably double yours
Bahahaha OK kid. Actual smart people don't say things like this.

Your sprint improved by 6.5%. That's not nothing.

What's your athletic background? Some of these kids may have been playing sports for much longer than you have. Those that have are starting ahead of you.

if you are high IQ there is no need for you to even lift, you will be able to make more money without torturing yourself to entertain white rednecks on TV
