Never trained dead hangs before, got 55s on my first try. Mostly because of a painful stretching feeling from my armpit.
Can do 10 strict pull ups
around 1 min, training it
I don't do dead hangs for time. For forearms I do pullups and deadlifts. I use straps for snatch grip high pulls (to get yoked so I can be granted access to the buffet) and hanging leg raises (for dat dere spinal decompression and feeling of relief after squats and deadlifts). I always want my forearms fresh for my deadlifts because I don't like neither hook grip (I have no chalk or patience to learn it) nor straps for them, so I do mixed grip.
