Just got a 20 pound bag of chicken thighs. How do I cook this shit to be edible and healthy.
Just got a 20 pound bag of chicken thighs. How do I cook this shit to be edible and healthy
Preheat oven to 375, season with salt, pepper, oregano, basil, olive oil, cook for 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway, finish with hot sauce of choice.
This.
I've just learned to cook for myself as well and pretty much every part of the chicken is cooked that way, given that all parts are separately cut when cooked.
Also throw in some mozz cheese on top or cut some slits on the meat and stuff it with cheese!
>eating anything other than chicken liver
Never gonna make it
Thighs are ezpz because they're so much juicer, chicken breasts are honestly always disgusting because they're so dry
At work we grill them after marinating them so they end up cooking im their own fat and juices which comes out nice, you can also bake or dry them. Just do whatever really OP, you can't go wrong
Not to switch topics but what's a healthy way to make breaded chicken?
>not eating red meat for gains
season with either
salt and pepper
salt, pepper and paprika
salt, pepper, paprika and curry powder
salt, pepper, paprika, oregano
salt, pepper, garlic powder
chop them in pieces and dry in a pan until no longer pink inside.
put them in a 200C oven for 30-45 minutes with the skin down.
Sounds like you’re just a shit cook. My chicken breasts end up juicy asf
I'm not going for gains. I'm a fatbody.
you don't
Brine for a few hours before patting dry then frying
You don't. The whole point of chicken is that it's a very high percentage of calories from protein food. You add shitty flour, oil, whatever and it's now no longer that.
It becomes way more calorically dense, less protein, more shit. If you want to bulk, great, but then anything is available to you.
"Hurr hurr whole grain flour"- yeah cool it with your bullshit. Grains are a once-in-a-while treat for people who are going to make it
>Grains are a once-in-a-while treat for people who are going to make it
>eats a bucket of rice and chicken
rice, beans and potatos are fine if you use olive oil or butter.
what else would you use?
Gordon ramsay probably has done a vid on it. Youtube is your friend when it comes to cooking
vegetable cancer oils or any oils that could not have been made before we could do it with machines
> for people that are going to make it
You’ll never make it while implying not everyone is going to make it
ahhh, I'm so used to Olive oil and Butter that I totally forgot about those.
Grill them, braise them in a crockpot with a lemon sauce, or bake them in the oven if you must.
Grill is how a real man should be cooking meat.
EAT IS RAW, PUSSY
its the best part of the chicken actually
why? it never goes dry
i prefer to pan fry it
you need a lot of charring on it to tenderize it, and it cooks slower than breast
but even when charred its delicious and juicy as fuck
great for bbq too
run your fingers through it first to make sure theres no cartillage or bone
ALWAYS USE HIGH HEAT for these
If by grill you mean pan fry in cast iron.
I lost the recipe but I made breaded chicken breasts using breadcrumbs (not a lot), dried onion flakes, egg whites, and baked them. Ended up pretty good and crispy too
liek dis
If the skin and bone are included, season and fry the skin until golden brown, remove from pan, deglaze and add some type of sauce of your choosing to braise the chicken thighs until they're done
Chicken cacciatore is incredibly easy and delicious and a good way to figure out how simple braising anything can be
But after you seal it in a dark room temp place for 6 months
No I mean grill on a grill. Like a man
>rice is good
>grains are bad
Use ground-up pork rinds instead of breadcrumbs. I just tried it with shrimp the other day, it doesn't work perfectly, but its better than nothing.
now that's dedicated marinating
grill it
I use thighs to make chicken teriyaki and other stir-frys
I thought you could only eat chicken breasts.
>Thighs are ezpz because they're so much juicer, chicken breasts are honestly always disgusting because they're so dry
1. put rack in baking sheet
2. put breasts on the rack
3. half a can of beer under chicken
4. aluminum foil tent
5. bake at 375 for 40-50 minutes depending on breast size. I did 60-65 minutes for some fucking huge ones I got.
blend your oats maybe?
You’re cooking them for too long or too much heat.
Get air fryer.
Cook.
The perfect recipe for terrible chicken breasts.
SIMPLE JUICY BREASTS
Season with salt and pepper, butterfly if extra thick
grassfed butter in the pan. Get it hot so the butter starts to bubble/brown
Throw chicken in there. 4 minutes each side if butterflied, 5 if not, but cover the pan for one side of the chicken. wa la
Or an alternative, buy an entire chicken for even cheaper and roast the fucker, then make broth from the carcass and make a dank ass soup after. I never realized how helpless people are in the kitchen until I moved in with my gf.
this
Wrap them around cheese ham and mustard. Nice and tight.
Maybe bacon instead of ham, maybe mushrooms cooked first if have more effort. Olives are good too. Optional herbs and garlic and such.
Pepper on top.
Bake for like 45 mins or until cooked.
best way to cook chicken breast is to cut them up into long thin slices and cook them in the fryingpan/grill and pretend its souvlaki
Marinate it with some greek yoghurt and some form of spice and it tastes amazing
tl;dr dry chicken breast is more tolerable when it's cut up
Yes I know he asked about chicken thighs
With thighs honestly they're much juicier so you have a bigger chance to fuck up and not make it dry
What I'd do with thigh is cook it in a stew pot with some salt pepper, tomato sauce or whatever really, potatoes, carrots, add in some chicken breast you can go 50/50 or 60/40 but I find chicken breast is easier to eat that way and besides if you have thighs all the time even if it's amazing you'll get bored of it
Mix it up man it's really not that hard to cook chicken that tastes amazing
>eating liver more then once a week
Enjoy your vitamine A poisoning
Unironically ainsleys jerk chicken is based af kek
>heh heh yeahhh boyyy
Teriyaki chicken? 1 part sugar to 4 parts onions sauce, mix brown and white sugar if you can. Soak the thighs in the teriyaki for a day or two. Slap on a grill or pan fry or bake. Add some teriyaki while you’re cooking. Garnish with sesame seed and green onion
why are oils bad but fatty foods good?
>over 1500% of vitamin A RDA per 100g
enjoy your vitamin A toxicity
inb4 >BUT MUH FAVORITE RETARD "NUTRITIONIST" ON YOUTUBE TOLD ME THAT YOU CAN'T EAT TOO MUCH VITAMIN A
Yes you can, you just can't die from it if you're an adult, unless you really over eat it or just happen to eat liver everyday for decades straight, you are gonna get ill at the very least.
There is not a single person that is vitamin A deficient as long as they eat fucking carrots or even fucking palm oil lmao, palm oil is used to treat vitamin A deficiency in third world countries and it works very well, much better than supplements and safer than liver.
Based. Had chicken liver yesterday. It's crazy how much taste differs depending on the source you get.
Literal retards. No evidence of vitamin A poisoning from eating the liver of normal animals. The only evidence of vitamin A toxicity is from supplementation, and the liver from carnivorous animals which no one eats except in the wild.
hehe
m.youtube.com
I made Chef John`s Greek lemon garlic chicken yesterday. Used the same cuts you have and served that shit up with a tzatziki. So simple even an autist like you can do it and delicious as fuck.
t. frank tufano
>there is no evidence
because vitamin A poisoning doesn't kill you if you're an adult, but it does make you sick, it lowers your bone mineral density and makes your skin get discolored even when tanned, like in a greyish tone, it also makes it dry, and also fucks up your eyes and brain and liver, you might not die but you will feel it. Almost no one eats liver regularly in the western world so there's almost no research done on it.
honestly compared to lean fish or game-style bird like ostrich chicken is very high on calories
were talking 120 vs 200+ cals
big difference in terms of protein efficiency
why nobody eating fish no more? :D
because fish is polluted and literally dirtier than pork
high concentration of omega-6 fatty acids
omega 6 fats arent bad though right?
humans have a higher requirement of omega 6 than omega 3 fats in total ammount
this is fine
OP, add to greens, rice, onions maybe, you have so many options, a curry cooked slowly would tenderise it goodly
it's impossible to get too little omega 6, and extremely easy to get way too much.
eating any grains, meat, fish, dairy, nuts, seeds, fruit, or vegetables will cover any possible need for omega 6.
if you're getting enough nutrients like vitamin E and the B vitamins, I'm not even sure if humans need any omega 6 fat at all.
bump
>not brining first
Ngmi
Last week I made chicken and rice by searing the thighs, removing them then adding peppers onions carrots and mushrooms and sauteeing them. Toast the rice just a bit in the olive oil and veggies then add the add chicken stock bring to a boil place the thighs on top and cover and place in an oven preheated to 375f. Gotta use an enameled pot or Dutch oven make everything in the one pot.
Don't be a retard, read this to understand how salt and meat work
yikes
>I'm not even sure if humans need any essential fatty acids
go read the studies upon which the "essential" status of omega 6 is based, and you'll see what I mean.
You shouldnt need to brine chicken thighs. They're loaded with fat and dark meat and will already be juicy as fuck. The only time I'll brine anything is when its white me, like breasts
You could try this recipe by Stan Efferding. It takes less than a minute to put together.
yee
Instant pot. Put it on saute, get oil hot, put thighs in and sizzle them on one side for 3 minutes, then other side for 3 minutes
20 minutes on meat setting. Wah Lah.
You revolting americunt. That's not even close to a Teriyaki recipe
imagine going through all this trouble just so your biceps and other muscles can grow and inch or two.
Imagine your time being so worthless you spend it on a gym lifting heavy objects over and over again the same way millions do everyday and thinking this somehow makes you special or worthy of respect and admiration.
Jow Forums truly is the most deluded and pathetic board on Jow Forums
>b-but muh dedication...
lmao
180 degrees celcius, 25 minutes and a healthy coating of olive oil makes chicken breast juicy asf
Fucking brainlet
>muh precious and well spent time
The fuck you doing on here anyway you sperm waste
Cook them in a pan with coconut oil. Lightly salt them too.
did the other boys make fun of you again because you're so skinny?
