I'm a small dude (5'5 120lb) and want to start lifting but I can't help but feel judged when I go to the gym about the baby weight I'm struggling with. Anyone else know this feel?
pic related.

You look like a little bitch everywhere, not just the gym.
Go to the gym and fix it.
>I can't help but feel judged when I go to the gym
Good thing people outside the gym don't judge you.
Just go, at most you'll get stared at by the douchebags but depending on the gym most people don't give a fuck. Or will actually try to help.
>T. started as a lanklet at 5'10 being 140 lbs.
I met some massive austrians who gave me sound advice. Now i'm 200lbs, fat. but strong enough to not give a fuck.
Nope. I’ve been 6’ 180lbs+ since I was 12. Sucks to be a Manlet. But really tho, no one cares what you look like in the gym. So long as you aren’t doing stupid shit (curling in the squat rack, hogging a bench with 3-5 minute rest periods, etc) no one is gonna judge you
>be me
>320lb fat fuck
>go to gym
>no one stares
>no one says anything to me
>there are literally people doing quarter reps with baby weight
>I am not the most retarded person there by far
>definitely the fatest though
>workout
>as I'm working out I stop giving a fuck about the people around me
>have a good time
Just go bro.
>hogging a bench with 3-5 minute rest periods
f-fuck you m8
I'm gonna be doing SS which is 5 sets of bench with ~1.5 - 2 minutes rest between each, so about 15 min on the bench. Is that rude? Same with the squat rack for squats+deadlifts
I used to be like you. I was a bit bigger, 5'8" ~130 pounds, but still weak as shit. Now, the best advice is to tell you to not give a FUCK about what other people think (most of them won’t pay attention to you anyways) but that’s easier said than done. If you’re really insecure, you can start on the Machines, since you can’t tell how much weight someone is lifting on them. Once you get strong enough to push real weight, start benching, curling, and bodyweights.
Skeletons like us get HUGE beginner gains, so you won’t be like this for long. But most importantly, just get your ass to the gym
I was kind of nervous at the start because I didnt know how to use the equipment and didnt want to look like the "january 2nd" people, but the equipment has diagrams and shit so it doesnt matter.
and caring what people think is poison, I wont say it wont happen because there are shitters everywhere. Anyways you should really go now because not only will you get fit but you will conquer your fear of what people think of you.
>the equipment has diagrams and shit so it doesnt matter
Literally this, it has pictures so even a child can understand how to use them.
Everybody started at some point. Nobody will judge you. Why do you care. Just go to the fucking gym and after a month or two you’ll be more than comfortable.
Fucking kids these days
1.5-2 mins is pretty standard, not rude a all. For squats and diddlys I find that a bit more rest is needed, I typically rest 2-3 mins between working sets for those.
Sorry m8 unless you’re hitting 3+ pl8 5 min rest on bench is inexcusable
no one cares, just go
>Why do you care
see pic.
Thank you brother.
Start off by doing bodyweight exercises at home, when you're not a scrawnly dyel then go.
You just gotta get in there man
Go in
Smash your shit
Go home
Fuck'em
More than half the people in gyms are aged out boomers who proudly parade their naked saggyness with almost no shame. As soon as you get on the gym floor and see how other people work out, you will not feel anxious at all. Most people can't lift shit and and accomplish nothing there.

I have no words for how accurate this is.
Fbpb. Truth pilled.
I remember going to the gym the first time with a couple friends when we had just started high school. I was very skinny and struggled to put up their warmup weight on the bench of 95lbs for 10 reps. They looked at me funny and made a smart comment and I’ll tell you what I told them: Look all around you, there are people everywhere you look that are stronger or weaker than you but which one matters to you? If your goal in the gym is to improve yourself why aren’t you paying attention to the people who are better than you instead of the lesser ones like me?
Just go and lift.
No one is paying attention to you.
