ah you're fucking retarded. it's called "pectus excavatum" my cousin has this. basically your sternum is fucked up and you have less room for your heart, so i'm guessing you run out of breath qucik. Anyways the way you fix it is you get surgery, they put a bar in your chest, they leave it in there for 2 years and 2 years later they take it out.

How long til you were fully recovered?

If I flex abs it goes full unoticeable and I'm mostly DYEL, start lifting

Also do upper abs for pectum and obliques for flared ribs that come with it, if it's not severe you'll look much better

Had a friend who had this. As a kid doctors told him that swimming could help reduce it. He started training, got really into it, started winning medals and shit until one day the doctors had a look and said that swimming just made it worse. He had to wear some kind of plastic around his ribs for a year. Felt really bad for him.

This may be just hard coping but sunken chest is a hard lifting motivator as well. I was full skeletor mode a few years ago and the only thing that i was not confortable with was my chest, from there i began improving and I noticed all my body could use some growing. Now I got bigger but my chest still bugs me so its always there reminding me if I don't commit to myself

I have the same condition, the surgery it's only for aestetics, embrace you manboobs and move on

Depending on the grade it may affect your heart and lungs, I got checked at the hospital to know if I needed the operation or not

Recovery took like 4 weeks until I felt halfway normal. I was stuck in bed for like a week. They also cut it back out of you a few years later lol. Went from 47% lung capacity to like 80 tho, so that's a win.

There is none OP. I had the Nuss Procedure done to me in June of this year, took me about three months to feel like I could do normal things again. Six months later, I feel like I'm back at or slightly better than my previous fitness level. It didn't fix my flared ribs, but my chest definitely doesn't have that giant dent, and my pecs are noticeably larger and fuller.

Are there any recommended exercises in particular for pectus carinatum? Which is pretty much the opposite of the much more common pectus excavatum.

Been lifting a few years. Weighted dips and incline dumbbell press has reduced its appearance a lot, but its still noticeable without a shirt on. Before bodybuilding, it was obvious even with a shirt on.

Presumably if you actually had the condition to a severe form, you would know about right? I mean at some point a doctor would make it known to you during a physical, since this condition evidently impacts your respiratory abilities.

Think I've got a minor form but no one ever started mentioning it til I began to work out, think having a larger chest maybe made it look worse

I had that done but with only one bar, took forever to recover and took like 2 years to get feeling in my chest again. Would still recommend though
