Is this a good belt?

yea it looks alright but why would you buy a belt that says GASP on it

that's gay haha

Belts are a meme. Just pulled 455 at 261 bodyweight and I've never needed a belt in my life.

>261lbs
nigga you fat

Why not use one to get stronger?

Assume you’re a Eurofag and I’m not sure if they ship internationally, but I’m a big fan of Pioneer.

I prefer a belt a little bit less thick, personally.

I pull that too, wearing a belt, for reps @180lbs body weight

do you honestly think that's impressive?

>not even 2x bodyweight

Does it really count as being stronger if you have to wear a belt to actually access that strength?

Yeah why wouldn't it?

You don't. The strength between the two carries over - put 50lbs on your belted squat and your unbelted will go up. The reverse is also true.

Then where do you draw the line? Slingshots? Multiply suits? It's just completely arbitrary once you accept any kind of aid

That doesn't mean anything. Why not just add 50lbs to your unbelted squat in the first place? I have only ever heard one good argument for wearing a belt, and it's for targeted training. Put on the belt to take a load off your core and overload your legs. Do that for a while, now youre legs are supercharged so you can take off the belt and focus on your core. But that requires much more attention and planning and guaranteed 99% of people who own a belt dont do anything like that

Actually using a belt works your core more. Thinking it doesn't is just broscience.

I heard this from a world record holding powerlifter so...

If you're using the belt properly, the load on your core is actually higher because of greater muscle activation and weight. It's not a passive thing.

Which one?

>b-belts arent cheating
>it actually makes the lift harder!

>it actually makes the lift harder!
it allows you to engage more of your core and rely less on your lower back (aka god's engineering mistake) during lifts. you'd know this if you lifted
