as long as the pins are set up perfectly to the depth you squat at, and make sure your form stays perfect.
but also know that you want to also train your stretch reflex with squats so you should still do some normal squatting.
It's one of those squat racks at LA fitness with the fixed safeties. Not a power cage. I'm 6' 3" but my ass drops a bit below my knees, I'd say my balls would be touching my calves, so I always figured it works out.

Basically the simplest way I can put it is you want to bounce off the bottom of your squat as soon as you reach it and explode up to a standing position as fast as you can.This is your squat stretch reflex, and is easier than squatting and pausing at the bottom then standing back up.
