Now that I've started moving heavier weights it's become harder to get in the zone. I'm too self aware about what I'm doing, for example I can OHP 100lbs for reps when I have the right mindstate but sometimes I'll be think wow 100lbs thats a lot, can I really do that? Even though I know I can and then it ruins my performance because I don't believe in myself
Anyone experienced this before? How do I unlock my intensity?
i wish thotposting was banned so i didn't have to jack off every 10 minutes is it just to test my shit self constraint?

JUST DO IT

You should look into Arnold Swartz's "shock theory". You don't need to keep lifting more and more. For example, I bet when you do legs you do exercise A, then B, then C. Try going into the gym and starting with C with as much weight as you can to do only 3 reps. Then do exercise A with as much weight to do 30 reps. The whole idea is that your muscles have become very aware of your 'routine' so you trick them by doing a completely different routine.
Also it's normal after every ~6 months of lifting to just take an entire week off. You'll come back stronger. It's not normal for the human body to train all year round.

That's retarded and has nothing to do with my problem

100lb OHP isn't heavy bro. Not being mean, but it's not a lot. Double it, THEN start to worry.
That's the thing, I know I can do it because I have done it but sometimes I just don't have faith in myself

You should be saying "wow my ohp is still only 100 lbs I'm a weakling pussy"
Also ohp is a garbage lift
David Garcia
>100lb Lmao, anything under 60kg ohp is not "heavy".
Joseph Walker
>Seriously think to yourself that: "you are stronger than all your friends and if you don't lift these weights they will surpass you. Lifting these weights are nothing compared to what your father and grandfather had to do. Are you a small little pussy? Just do it. Are you really strong enough to protect the ones you love?" and so on... >pray not for the weight to be easy but for the strength to lift them you heathen!
>I think, wow 100lbs is a lot and it fucks up my set 100lbs is fucking nothing user, hope this helps
Hunter Clark
For a heavy lift, put on some aggressive metal, turn up the volume specifically for this set, grit your teeth and actively concentrate on forcing yourself into the zone for the lift. Emphasis on the loud, heavy music.
Jace Miller
I'll give these a try Any other tips? Btw I'm 135lbs and only been lifting hard for a month instead of doing my bro split
Caleb Hill
Unironically pounding your chest, tensing your arms and saying dumb shit like "DO THIS" will add 10-20 to your lifts. There's a reason you see every power lifter do it
Eli Davis
I have a special playlist for my heaviest sets, make sure you get in the zone and hyped up mentally to crush weight. Hype yourself up into feeling how powerful you are, and like the weight you are about to lift is nothing o you
Adrian Richardson
I did it guys It was a piece of piss, even got one more rep on the last set
high doses of caffeine just make sure to cycle it or you become tolerant and you no longer feel like you're on coke
Justin Walker
>tfw did 70kg ohp for 4 reps yesterday From mistakes into miracles
Elijah Torres
this works for me user. been listening to a lot of Korn and cheesy rock and it works. i broke two PRs (bench and deadlift) this week just by jamming the fuck out.
David Thomas
idk bro, usually i got one of my boys calling me a fucking pussy and then i do the god damn thing. sack up.
Adrian Foster
Ya you're problem is that you're fucking homo dude, it's weightlifting not going to battle, just do the exercise and shut the fuck up
