i walk at 15% incline at 2.7mph for 60mins and my heart rate is 170+ the whole time
i used to jog/run at 5.5-6mph for 60mins and my heart rate would be like 140ish and i would get horrific joint pain and shin splints, and this was over a period of 4 months

what cardio is the best cardio? i would say it depends on where your starting from... im trying to get back into Jow Forums at the moment,
last year, last august in fact, i stopped smoking after 20+ years of 10/20 a day, i wasnt "weak" but my cardio was certainly shot too bits.
so theres me, 6'2'' 224lb, bmi of like 27 or something, cholestrol of 5.4 (im scottish it happens) i have a dad bod lol, well anyway, the 10 or so weeks between the end of august and halloween i went from jogging 2 miles and feeling like absolute shit to running 10 miles with a 22lb vest on, i carried this on for a few month... only using the vest periodically desu, it was more a mental thing, the boost you get from running with resistance to running the same distance without is a game changer...
i would whole heartedly advise running/jogging/powerwalking outside in the fresh air to anybody,
i went for a healthcheck a few month after this and i hadnt actually list any weight desu.. i had gained a few lbs but the nurse said thei was more than likely muscle mass and weight loss would involve the obvious calorie deficits involved, but i had taken a little bit of knowledge and was being the rules to suit myself, i used the apps and donr the math and was basically eating an 1100 cal fried breakfast and enjoying it fully and then throwing on my vest and putting in the work and burning those 1100 later that day... i cant say this helped my cholestrol though, and i know im not gonna get cut like this either, but even when i wrestled back in the day i was more a thick shape...
ok for all the work i put in , in feb of this year.. i had a bad time personally and started smoking again.. i cursed myself out numerous times for it but it is what it is, i was still going out periodically running but i was finding less time to do this and certainly more excuses not to which ever way you look at it. >>>cont

anyway as i was having my cup of joe and cigarette at the back door this morning i said screw it... and i pulled on i my running gear and threw myself out into the drizzle... the first few miles i coughed and weezed as you would expect, my sinuss drained aswell which was nice... but i persevered... i wasnt pushing myself hard was at the "conversational" pace.. stopped for a lil piss break a couple of times..

i would go for longer runs, the faster miles will stem from that, i would maybe find routes with inclines and add the resistance from a weighted vest... you may find your right now that your times plateau for a short while but your recovery periods shorten which is still a benefit in your health overall.. LSD long slow distance m8, at the moment im planning on taking myself from the road to cross country.. need trail sneakers for that though

Get into a 4-run rotation:
>long run, easy run, fast run, easy run, repeat
It’s relative to where you’re at. If 3 miles is a long run, easy run should be same a similar pace for 1.5-2 miles. Fast run should be 30s-60s faster per mile than long run for 1.5 miles
Do not use weighted vests or ankles weights to make running harder. Those things will hurt your running efficiency, and you will stay slow.
Run faster long run/fast days to stimulate improvements, run easy on easy days to promote recovery
