Also depends on where your mass is. If you weigh 220lbs and squat/deadlift all the time, climbing will be hard.If your mass is in your legs then it's gonna be tougher for you than all the twinks that only climb.

Climbing is as much legs as it is arms. Try pushing yourself up with your legs rather than pulling yourself up with your arms.

What it does require is a shit ton of finger strength, it's something that you never train in your daily life or at the gym, every newcomer is severly under trained in that regards. It also takes a lot of time to gain finger strength because it's a lot of tendons & soft tissue adaptation.

Your body weight is also a gigantic factor in how easily you'll be able to climb

work on your technique user. also get far better grip and core strength.

I find that I can do almost a many pullups after 2 hours of bouldering as when I'm fresh at the gym. It's the grip strength that you really need. And of course technique.

honestley, if you want to target the specific muscle groups that are used most for climbing, just start climbing with less weightlifting and start eating good. if you weigh more than 160-180 right now, you should start doing cardio to slim down and then climb as hard as you can to get better at it. you will 100% lose gains if you have them, but you will get very strong.

good exercises for climbing would be: pull-ups (wide and narrow grip) also try and do L sits while doing this, chin-ups (wide and narrow grip), rows, any oblique exercise, push ups in different hand spacing's, doing body weight hangs for an extended amount of time, lots of core exercises and honestley just hike and do long outdoor walks with lots of weight in a backpack for legs.

You can't really trying your grip strength fast. Just climb often. Try to do top rope and lead aswel. Use a hangboard hit the campus board. Plank, farmers walk, squats, push ups, pull ups. All legitimate exercises. For climbing.

Train rear delts and back for climbing. Use technique more than raw strength

Cardio is good for losing weight but don't let it interfere with recovery otherwise you'll stall on your lifts. How many days a week do you lift?
