Military fags, what are your thoughts on the new Army ACFT? Half the Army is freaking out because they know they’re about to get kicked out for being unable to pass all 6 events.
Female soldiers are flipping out the hardest because there is no female scale — one standard, no gender differentiation.
>Deadlift 3 reps >10lb medicine ball through >modified pushups (harder) >leg tuck on pull up bar >sprint, drag, carry (drag a sled and farmer carry) >2 mile run
All events must be complete within minimum standards (varies by your job - combat vs admin) in under 40 minutes so you get 5 mins or so between events.
It doesnt seem that hard. How much is the deadlift for your average foot soldier ?
Ian Young
Any military on Jow Forums will obviously say it’s great. The only people I hear complaining about it are fat black chicks, overweight millennials, and old ass desk sergeant majors. Complaints about it are ridiculous and range from “it’s not fair to women” to “how we gonna order all this equipment when the defense budget is only 600 billion.”
Jayden Gonzalez
180lbs for 3 reps is minimum to pass, but that won’t get you promoted. Some are saying this is unfair to female soldiers. 340lbs is 100 points (max score) in that event. Also you use a trap bar.
Well that really is not that much damn. You can get 100 in a good year or two of solid training.
Jackson Young
what kind of pushup as well ?
Nicholas Roberts
Most people are probably strong enough to brutalize lmao1 or 2pl8 off the floor. It's just learning how to do it, bracing, fixing grip fail, etc
Connor Nguyen
Your chest has to hit the ground, and your hands come off the ground. Same lock out of elbows at the top like a normal push up. 70 is max score and I think 30 is failing. Time limit is 2 mins.
Justin Stewart
If they can't even make 40s on the ASVAB then they should at least have to be better than trash when it comes to fitness.
Also lmao at women being held to the same standard being unfair.
Bentley Bailey
It’s widely recognized as a “loophole” that senior generals are using to keep women out of combat roles.
The time standards for the sprint-drag-carry will eliminate pretty much every woman from serving in a combat arms unit. During trials I watched every single female in my unit fail by at least a full minute.
Shuttle sprint 25m and back. Drag 90lb sled 25m and back. Side straddle 25m and back. Farmer carry 40lb kettlebells 25m and back. Shuttle sprint 25m and back. I ran it in 1m30s, then jogged it just for kicks in 2m30s. Failure is like 2m50s.
Noah Baker
Or maybe its an indicator tht women arent fit to serve in some capacitys
Ethan Ross
When will this deluded patriarchy end
Cooper James
good, when do we get fitness exams like that for the air force? The female scores are all a joke.
Ryan Nguyen
Finally, army fags will do real push-ups.
Dylan James
>*clap clap* women >*clap clap* are >*clap clap* just >*clap clap* as >*clap clap* capable >*clap clap* as >*clap clap* men >*clap clap*

Look at the Canadian forces test, we implemented something similar years ago. We still have different standards for women and men...
Colton Wilson
Any tips for maxxing on the new one? I'm a skinny mofo so I get 300s on the APFT easily but when I tried the sprint-drag-carry I was slow as fuck and could barely jog by the last sprint. I know I can almost deadlift 3 plates but does normal deadlift strength convert to trap bar deadlifting? Also what movements can I do to improve on the medicine ball throw w/o throwing out my back?
Nathan Bailey
Prior infantry Marine here.
TOP FUCKONG KEK YOU POGS AND WOOKS ARE SO FUCKED JAJAJAJAJAJA

>It’s widely recognized as a “loophole” that senior generals are using to keep women out of combat roles.
I sure as shit wouldn't trust serving alongside a female if I knew that if I was wounded she would be fucking useless in dragging me to safety or being able to get me to a plac where I could be medivacced.
That and what kind of full retard shit would the politicians demand the army do to rescue some roastie who is captured and raped on video by muslims. What the fuck has this country come to.
Ian White
Who cares they already have guns
Jackson Lee
Fucking kek
>I can’t effectively look out for my fellow many if they fall during battle >Why can’t I be in combat roles?!!!
Glad I got out of that shit... worst 6 years of my life (not including all the stupid ass shit taught in ROTC)
If you’re gonna join the military, go in as medical or ancillary healthcare- you’ll promote if you do well or not with the fitness test
All the other occupations are essentially filling a giant ass wheelbarrow full of dirt all day, then dumping it at the end of the day, and doing it all over the next day.
>t. Former infantry CPT
Michael Flores
>if you're gonna join the military, Join the real military, aka USMC.
Nolan Bennett
I'm kind of torn about this. On one hand I like how the test is realistic and will eliminate almost all women from combat roles.
On the other hand, my base gym only has two deadlift platforms and this guarantees I'd never use it again, or will be stuck working in with some dumbass Men's Fitness workout involving a single plate.
Leo Martinez
yeah but it's canada lmao
Brayden Sanders
Trap bar is easier than straight bar.
Austin Davis
Sounds like someone wasn’t very good at the job.
Did you get OSB’d out due to your shitty OERs? Were you that one lone infantry officer who LOM’d ranger school and walked around with no tab?
>tfw a cardio Lanklet and can DL 250 for reps on a straight bar
I think the only issue I’ll have is the hand release push ups but that should go away once I’ve been training it for a bit. Honestly I’m excited for this new test but I just know it’s gonna take allllll fucking day to do.
Ethan Perez
pls be kg
Henry Perry
Nope, I am a fucking beanpole. 250 pounds only, sadly. I can probably do more as a 1rm but I haven’t tried. Either way I’ll be working to max out the new pt test
Joshua Green
Such an annoying pose.
Blake Morris
Are there actually any women in units that see combat? I remember pics of a tranny (pretty sure she was considered a female) with dudes in full gear that looked like a front line squad. Is the casualty rate higher in these units? Are the women just there to get dicked all day when the unit is out of combat?
t. not a burger
Andrew Foster
Everyone is forgetting what makes this difficult is that there's only one-two minutes between exercises, so you are going non stop. The leg hangs will severely hamper your run time, and the rest of the events will drain you pretty quick. It's a lot different from the old apft since you had around 5-10 minutes to rest between events
The thing is with modern combat, all parts of the army have the chance to see combat. A famous example is a woman in a transportation unit being captured after her convoy was ambushed in Iraq, the humvee turret barrels fell out, weapons jammed, and they got fucked up because they were told they would never see combat
Elijah Rodriguez
if you have to train to deadlift 100 pounds you should just kys my dude
Gabriel Ward
this looks like a pic of recruiters measuring a potential recruit. there were plenty of guys like this in the first couple weeks of boot camp, there were none in the last few. t. marine
Jaxson Martinez
It's going to be a pain in the ass. Instead of the PT test being something that is done in an hour for a whole company it is going to become an all day event. The logistics behind it, especially for national guard/reserve component is going to be terrible. I'm just happy I'm getting out before this bullshit.
Austin Taylor
l2read a score of 100 is 340lbs
Kevin Diaz
(x) doubt
Andrew James
ah my bad. posting between sets so no blood in the noggin
Hudson Stewart
As fit as the marines? There is no mention of pull-ups which are the number one indicator of ability apart from sustainable endurance running.
Jeremiah Green
US military is for cucks anyways. Who literally cares what anyone who willingly signed up thinks?
Lucas Anderson
>operation big mac
Daniel Perez
1. Gain weight, most of these events will be easier as bigger dude 2. Deadlift more. Trap bar is easier than straight bar but more leg dominant. Squats will help too 3. Do farmers carries and sprint workouts. If you can do sled drags do those too. 4. For any of the explosive movements look into oly lifts or basic explosive lifts like push presses
Hunter Walker
Marine test is way better
Juan Stewart
>logistics too hard >American defense budget larger than most GDPs
It’s worth the effort. The “logistics” argument is what scared fat fucks latch onto. It will be worth it. If you can dedicate a day to SHARP and EO training, you can dedicate a day to evaluating your fitness for combat.
Pussy.
Isaiah Barnes
I'm laughing at all the e6 and e7s that have been hiding behind permanent profiles. Most of my unit will struggle when this new test hits, I will drown in all the tears as I mog everyone with my mediocre deadlift. t. jaded E4
John Long
Ya but it won’t even take half a day. If you start at 0630, have 10 instructors, run 2 man lanes, you’re knocking out a platoon of 40 every two hours. So by 1300hrs an entire company is done, but the other two platoons were off doing maintenance or whatever while waiting to get tested.
You can knock out a battalion by 1300 if you centralize it at battalion instead of leaving it to the companies. Grab the 40 fittest dudes in the battalion (regardless of rank) and have them knock out their test the day prior and have those 40 dudes be the graders for the day. Sure, your need about 30 hex bars and 60 kettlebells and 30 sleds but that’s chump change for a battalion’s budget. A battalion spends like 2 million a month in replacement parts and ammo.
Thomas Hughes
Ya congrats on that. Read this article about how an active shooter exercise + a woman who sprained her ankle led to a miscommunication that resulted in an Air Force dude shooting the doorknob off a hospital door:
why waste the money on equipping them if they aren't effective in the role? i think you are the deluded one
Ian Morales
>historically the least successful branch K
Kevin Fisher
Ya ask the Nazis about that. The Marines led the beach landing into France that got the foothold into Normandy that won the war.
Dominic Baker
There’s no rest time in combat
Cameron Martin
>marines known for retreating constantly >”FIRST TO FIGHT” >never the first to fight >lowest budget, shittiest equipment

Number one indicator? Yeah sure it is...Pull ups are great, but they are not a number one indicator of anything besides one's ability to do pull ups. I'm more interested to see how this new fitness test translates to battlefield performance. Will it help weed out the weak that do not belong in a line unit? One can hope but my doubts are still there.
Josiah Ramirez

At least in my experience, military gyms aren't run by retards. They'll get more platforms/ racks.
Blake Campbell
Lads I'm joining the Army soon and I have to be able to run a mile and a half in 14 minutes. Will I be able to do this without having gone jogging in a long time? I play rugby pretty regularly.
Elijah Nelson
You should be able to do this if you aren't sedentary. And it only matters when they actually do your tests at the end of boot camp. The running requirement is by far the easiest of the PT test components.
Jayden Williams
I'm pretty strong on everything else, I passed the Jerry can carry really easily at my interview. I haven't gone on a run for a couple of years.
Brandon Robinson
14 minutes is a really generous timing. Even 12 minutes would be easily doable for anyone who's active at all. I wouldn't worry about it but go ahead and start jogging anyway.
Camden Lewis
Yeah you're right, US military is REALLY good at gyms. Thanks for the comfy reminder bro.
Logan Smith
Yeah it really is, I run it for fun when we have them going on so I can get out of doing real training
Blake Long
Wartime fitness preparedness =/= sports or recreational health fitness As a soldier you have to be able to go for long periods of time on little to no breaks
Nathan Fisher
Bro, the marines weren’t in Europe. The US Army did Normandy. The Marines, who exist for beach landings, weren’t even part of the largest most important beach landing in human history. All Army supported by Navy.
Thomas Nelson
Is this sarcastic? The military really is good at running gyms. Most Army bases have a variety of gyms, from cross fit to massive selections of free weights to every dumb machine imaginable, all available in excess without wait. The Army gym I go to even had a swimming pool that leads up to a climbing wall. Kinda slippery but whatever.
Owen Brooks
Na I was serious. I'm in the navy and the absolute best part is stuff ran by MWR. Even the gym on my ship is phenomenal.
