gonna shill for my city: Richmond, VA - cheap city, just big enough to be relevant, not big enough for bad traffic and shit. we have seasons, but most of the year is warm (or hot). we have two amusement parks within an hour drive, and you can get to the beach in 2 hours. perfect for a weekend trip without the high cost of living. there's tons of stuff to do in the city itself as well.
