I've found that most "metalheads" aren't the people you'd expect them to be. Especially the ones into more extreme subgenres, like black metal. Of course there are faggots with battle jackets and spikes, who think they're hot shit for not listening to consumerist music like Metallica. But those aren't too common. The best discussions I've ever had about metal were with regular looking guys, and it was only accidently brought up, they didn't make it their personality.
I think he's doing okay, or at least better than before. He stopped making black metal and now does that folk stuff. But he goes on tour occasionally which I'm sure is tough for someone whose likely very anxious.
