been lifting for about 5 months now

> been lifting for about 5 months now
> big bro asks me how much I bench
> 60kg
> looks at me with disgust, asks me if I am serious and tells me that even he could do that(he hasn't lifted for about 1 or 2 years)

Why do you need to hurt me so much bro?

But I guess that will be a good motivation....

All that matters is pushing yourself as hard as you can

Lol talk about getting baited. Are you a woman or do you really have such bad banter handling skills?

Im in the same place as you
But the gym bros tell me that's nice
And i've been lifting for 4 months tho

He is right to shame you for being a benchlet.
Once you get your bench to a good number you will then criticize other benchlets, coming full circle and completing another cycle of benchlet shaming.

After 5 months you should honestly be around the 85-100kg mark depending on your height. That’s the whole point of 3x5/5x5 full body routine.

>be me
>6 months
>26kg

>2+ years
>barely 40 kg

But isn't 3x8 like the standard thing for muscle mass? I mean all over the internet you will find 3x8

he is right I also benched 60kgs on my first day at the gym.

Honestly that is pretty pathetic if you're a semi-healthy male. Either you aren't taking it seriously or eat like a total skelly.

I did 50kg bench the first day I came to the gym without ever doing any exercising and basically playing video games 16 hrs a day since I was a toddler. I got to 60 in like 2 weeks.

I built most of my chest with cable cross overs and I can't bench heavy for shit because triceps tendonitis and shoulder issues. I just do the the lower 2/3 of ROM with a light weight for 12-15 reps. That may sound pathetic but it's about how you look, not how much you lift.

>That may sound pathetic but it's about how you look, not how much you lift.

as a natty it’s 100% about how much you lift

You’re just a dyel newfag

>lazy fat fuck
>my starting bench was higher than that

In a sense. There's a study that showed no significant difference in hypertrophy between using 30% 1RM and 70% 1RM in leg extensions. Both groups had to train to failure, and that is the key part. The only difference was that the group that lifted heavy gained strength whereas the one that lifted light did not gain much strength, though hypertrophy was the same.

Meh, bench was always my weakest point too. My first bench without ever doing lifting anything was 50 kg. And I didn't got better because I always had a shitty form which always forced too much load on my shoulders and triceps.

Are u a skelly or are you not regular or something?

He just wants to belittle you because you're trying to improve yourself which makes HIM feel inferior for not doing the same.

quit worrying about what others think and just lift

I don't know man.
I think I am serious enough to the point where a stranger needs to help me lifting up the bar.
But also I just started bench pressing about a month ago because I always skipped it by doing machine excersies for the chest.

this desu, but once you get to a respectable bench you have my permission to brag about it to benchlets

he's coping like a motherfucker because he regrets letting himself become a dyel

lmfao at benching 60 after 5months

idk how thast possible unless u started at like 30

>can ohp 1pl8 no problem
>struggle with 5rm 185 lb bench
>shoulders still look like shit

Skelly. I’ve gone 3 times a week and almost never missed day to the gym but I’m still trying to find good bulk foods (besides meat and eggs) that don’t have added sugar or any form of dairy, as those cause me skin problems.

I started with bar and have added weight slowly. Now I rack up and can do 42,5kg for 4 reps as the last set.

Idk if I should do something like adding 5kg to all of my sets and fail even more to progress faster, or just stay at the current pace.

Not in a rush but if I can get better results in any way, I'm all ears.

im at 80.5 kg 1RM @ 69kg bodyweight after 10 months of lifting

kill me

Or wait, should I actually add weight even if I fail reps the previous time? Maybe that's what I'm missing...

If i can give you one piece of advice, Just eat a normal amount, and throw a bulking shake on top.
>Pic related
Drink it, even if it takes you a fucking day. You can make it less gross by adding your favorite fruit or veggie.
I know what it feels like to be skelly and lanky, it took me 6 months to bench 135lbs.
Over time, you will notice that you slowly get a greater appetite. It took me a month to notice an increase in the amounts I was willingly eating

Wtf dude i was benchin 60 at 15 after a month and the only other physical activity ive done to that point was some wado-ryu karate for a year. Get your shit together and go push yourself

Thanks.

Peanut butter.

Im an oldfag and say that he's right. The strength=size meme needs to die, I see too many gymcels with big s/b/d and pathetic muscular development (Case in point: /plg/ tripfags that get sizemogged by natty brosplitters with sub 1/2/3/4)

I only started benching about 2 months ago and I can hardly do 1 pl8 for 5 reps. I don't get sore muscles, I just run out of steam. Do I just have a weak chest?

Will get a jar. Hope I don’t break wind too much.

honestly just stop lifting

Yes and 5x5/3x5 is the standard for getting strong

Nah, food is my problem. When I eat the amount I need, I break PRs like crazy.

Start with SL until you can squat 225.
