A few months ago I developed what I assume is acid reflux. Most mornings to afternoons, especially if I ate a big meal the night before, I experience a burning in my stomach and slight closing of the throat, with sometimes a bit of nausea. It's not the worst thing ever, but it's uncomfortable and I can't really eat until it's over. Anyone have any experience with what might be causing this or foods I should avoid?

Please respond.
Eat a bunch of small meals instead of a few big meals. Avoid spicy or acidic food. If coffee irritates it, consider switching to caffeine tablets. Don't lie down right after eating.
I haven't been able to determine if coffee irritates it but it's a possibility. I'll keep the rest in mind, thanks.
Greasy/oily food can also contribute, also increase the amount of fibre in your diet
Caffeine can also induce it.
eat more food
your body is angry
if you are already fat then obviously fucking exercise, and eat better (eat mostly meat and fat, don't skip organ meats, 20% of calories from carbs max, NO GRAINS (if they weren't enriched with vitamins they would literally cause you to be retarded, they are not food, they are filler for slaves))
other than that, if it doesn't work, you probably have cancer and/or are getting poisoned by something at your job or in your home.
fucking retarded NPC advice
fiber swells up in your guts and is literally an assfucking every time you pass a large fibrous load
vegetable oil is not food. It is literally not food. It's fit for fuel only.
Animal fat and fruit fat (nuts) are fine, they come with the vitamins and the fatty acid composition to make them digestible properly.
anyway i meant to say, you have to dial in the fiber so you don't have a stomach ache or any discomfort passing it and also so you don't get constipated.
you need just the right amount, and as you get healthier, you will need less and less.
if you load up on fiber like a gastro doc will recommend you'll just make your reflux worse by having a swollen mass of non-food in your guts, stressing you out, and physically pushing against your stomach
DO NOT TAKE acid reducing medications it will completely fuck your gut bacteria and leave you susceptible to stomach infections.
>esophagus
last post: a great source of fiber is roots (carrots parsnips turnips) cooked to be mostly soft. It passes gently and has good minerals in it, and probably some vitamins that survive the cooking process
Take betaine hydrochloride
eat more acidic things dont take antiacids
you need to increase the acidity of your stomach
what's happening is, due to weak stomach acid your stomach churns really hard to digest food and it sploshes up acid into your throat
drink raw apple cider vinegar or lemon juice
don't take any antacids no matter what because that will perpetuate it
Lose weight, don't eat spicy or big meals after 8 pm, eat more and smaller meals, take proton pump inhibitors like pantoprazole or antiacidics like Gaviscon, cut down on soda or other carbonated drinks.
Also if you have pain in your stomach when you eat or when you haven't eaten for a while, it might be an stomach or duodenal ulcer, respectively. Then you need to do a gastroscopy and maybe take a helicobacter pylori eradication if you have an infection.
There is only one important rules which you should obey in order to avoid getting this burning sensation: do NOT lean in your bed after you eat something for like 1 hour and everything will be good
Reflux is not an indication to eradicate H. Pylori bro
>take proton pump inhibitors like pantoprazole
KYS retard. NEVER, I repeat, NEVER ever give advice to anybody again. I would kick your teeth out IRL if I could.
I've been lifting for a couple years, I have been bulking for many months on about 3500 cals a day.
Thanks for your posts man, I just read them now and I really appreciate it.
Not OP but doctor put me on one of these recently. What s the problem with them?
Is it really that bad
This makes you fat. OMAD is GOAT, grazing is for animals that live in a pasture.
Nah, probably someone who fell for the apple cider vinegar placebo that he read online and thinks he knows better than doctors.
Good thing some spastic user knows better than medics
PPIs and h2 antagonists like ranitidine are incredibly effective for reflux, gastritis and treating stomach ulcers. It's a safe drug if you're not taking it for sustained periods.
Otherwise raising the head of your bed, avoiding laying after eating meals and losing weight are effective for reflux
PPI are linked to kidney failing, though they do work.
Long term OP needs a clean diet. Unprocessed meats and veggies only would do it.
For me, anything acidic is bad, here's a list of things I avoid because I know they cause heartburn
Cilantro, o nions , peppers, coffee, fried foods
It could just be from stress
I've been prescribed with those little shits and it was terrible. You're on them - no reflux, but weak as fuck stomach that can't digest anything for shit, you're bloated for 3-4 hours after meal. You're off them - massive reflux after every bitch ass meal, much worse than it was before taking PPIs.
In the end I forced myself out of taking them by extensive use of antiacidics. If you have occasional reflux - don't touch PPIs.
Shut up, medkike apologist.
You're mixing 2 separate things together. They CAN produce interstitial nephritis, mostly when given intra venous for example before surgical proceedure, but it is NOT renal failure and in most cases kidneys recoves by themselfs. Oral doses of IPP for 3 months period, which is recommned by GERD should not impair kidneys function.
No, it couldn't
My GERD always flares up during exam period.
Cuz you smoke, drink coffee and eat less carefully than on a daily basis?
I had GERD for a short period of time from presumably taking multi vitamins. When I stopped taking them it vanished.
I haven't been particularly stressed this semester. It really only seems to correlate with the size of my meals
You should leave and never come back.
/Thread
I won't leave. You better kys too my dude.
don't eat at night and remove carbs and coffeine
if you do drugs you should also quit that obviously
If you're fat and you have acid reflux, it's because you're fat. Lost some weight.
If you're skinny and you have acid reflux, go to the doc if it doesn't go away after a while.
Also, sleep on your left side.
Try a few teaspoons of braggs apple cider vinigar and chase it with cold water, I used to have that issue but this resolved it for me. Went through a period where I'd go through packs of antacid a week, not had an issue since.
I want to try this but i heard its no good if you have ulcers.
