how do you survive on frozen / prepackaged food with a $10/hr job? what do you buy? how much do you spend? the only way i can see you doing this is if you get 18 eggs, 16oz bacon, 40oz cereal, gallon of milk, gallon of orange juice, 15 hot pockets, 8 frozen burritos and 2.5lb chicken tenders and 60oz french fries but that gets expensive
How do you survive on frozen / prepackaged food with a $10/hr job? what do you buy? how much do you spend...
Eat nothing but eggs.
damn, you know out of every person that has been in existence and the vast amount of people in the world today, someone has had to have done this
imagine only eating eggs your entire life, what would that do to you?
Granola and Long Life Milk is an excellent breakfast as it is Low GI and will keep you going for awhile, while also being cheap. If you have a freezer I assume you also have a fridge.
Morning Tea I just drink black coffee
For lunch I normally have a protein shake and some fruit, like a Banana and apple etc. I take some other supplements here other than maybe a multi-vitamin they're not required. Protein powder and in season fruits are cheap as fuck.
Dinner I normally grill some chicken, throw some brown rice in a rice cooker and nuke some frozen veggies. Sometimes I do oven baked Frozen Fish fillets instead of chicken, so Tendies or whatever would work.
hmm, how much does that cost you every week / month?
rice and beans.
you can eat for 1 month for $10
beans and lentils are how mexican families with 6 kids survive.
buy yourself one of these and eat a bunch of chicken/beef/fish
I'm an AusFag so my prices won't really work for you, sorry user.
>all that list
Bitch, I know people who survived on instant noodles for months, are all americans this spoiled?
>there are people forced to subsist on diets less nutritious than what medieval peasants ate
>there are people forced to subsist on diets less nutritious than what medieval peasants ate
>implying modern American food has nutrients
buy fresh food and cook it in bulk on sunday. keep 3 days worth in the fridge and the rest in the freezer, then rotate them out each time you take one from the fridge to eat
>eating bacon
>eating cereal
>drinking fruit jews
>eating hot pockets
>eating any microwave food
No wonder you only make $10 an hour baka
Just eat buy beans by the pound and frozen vegtables. Eat only what meat you can hunt.
Can of beans with sausages(pour out extra ketchup) + Spaghetti hoops. Minimal expenditure, preparation and washing up. Maximum taste and fillingness. Open tins, chuck it in a microwave for 4 minutes. depends on supermarket but for me thats about .50 cents a meal. Its not the best but you can live on it. make sure to add hot sauce to substitute taste.
>but you can live on it
not for long lmao
>bag of (sweet) potatoes
>frozen brocc/other greens
>fatty cuts of meat: steak/chicken thighs
>olive oil
>rice
>meal prep
>not for long lmao
wrong. obviously not as my only meal but you can easily live off that. Thats 40% of your daily salt intake and more protein than a protein shake. Just because you wanna sit on a high horse and pretend you are better for eating more expensive food dosent make it so. If you want to live frugally this is the cheapest it gets, and its completely sustainable.
Learn to make broths, soups, curries, that kind of thing. I survive by living like an Italian peasant. If you buy vegetables cheaply, either because they're in season or on special because of being overstocked you can cut your bills in half.
Then buy canned beans, cannelini, white, red, butter, chickpeas; as well as fuckloads of tinned tomatoes.
Now buy fruit, milk, bread, eggs and meat (sparingly) to balance out your diet. Congratulations, it now costs about $30-$40 a week to keep you alive, giving you money for other things.
Frozen foods are actually more expensive than just making them yourself. I usually bought in bulk, veggies, rice, general pastas, fruits, etc. The problem isn't the cost but the time you're willing to put into it. I usually spend every Saturday making enough food to last me a week. Most of my food is the kind that lasts a week and tastes decent enough.
Just make sure you're covering all the vitamins and nutrition your body needs for a healthy life. Avoid drinking pop and never waste money on frivolous foods and don't follow cravings because they cost you money. Good luck!

Eww. Why would you want to to survive on that?
My go-to's as a student surviving of welfare and pity are
>Spaghetti bolognese - beef mince and pasta are cheap as fuck, bulk it out with some grated carrots, through in the right veggies and herbs and it tastes great.
>Burritos and chilli con carne - beef mince and beans also cheap as fuck. Also tastes 10/10 with the right spices.
>Various curries and stirfries. Buy chicken breast in bulk and it's cheap. Bulk the meal out with rice or noodles, and the appropriate ethnic mix of veg.
These are all meals that you can make in bulk on a weekend and reheat whenever you need a quick meal. Right now my freezer has glass tubs of spag bog x3, chilli con carne x2, thai chicken green curry x2 and goan fish curry x1 all waiting for me.
It would be even easier if I wasn't aiming for 3000kcal and 100g protein daily. Then you could throw in all sorts of super cheap salads, soups and veg dishes.
Tastes delicious too. My meals always get compliments when people don't know I'm literally just tossing something in a microwave for a couple of minutes and putting some nice sides/garnishes together.
For the price of frozen prepackaged shit you can make more on your own by buying the individual components and slapping them together yourself. Also If you're only making $10 an hour you qualify for food stamps. Since you're working you shouldn't feel bad taking advantage of it while you can.
