I've been in a psych ward for a month and a half. Today I got my first day pass.
Psych wards are pretty comfy. The nurses are really young and hot! And the meds they're giving me are really helping.
I honestly would recommend it. What are your experiences with psych wards?

I've been to the hospital multiple times and was never committed to a psych ward. My family gp even saw my arms which both were full of scars. You must have to try really hard to get into one of those places.

My friend spent a few weeks there and said it was shit. He was under 18 at the time so they put him with all the other edgy teens. I can't imagine being stuck there with some literally crazy 50yo homeless people. Unless your parents are loaded and it's a private hospital and you stay in your own private room for the most part
I couldn't disagree with you more. I was sectioned under false pretense and was harassed by staff from the moment I arrived. I stood my ground, kept to myself and did not cooperate with their protocol beyond bare minimum. I was kept for a week and during my discharge my doctor's hands were shaking out of fear for what I might do

I was in ome for about a month to prevent self harm and suicide. It was alright. The first part was hazy but I wasn't getting it as bad as most of the people there. I got in trouble to how I tried to dress from time to time. A couple of the staff took a liking to me so I had company with sane people from time to time. It really felt like I wasn't really anywhere near most of the people there in terms of mental health.

Pretty boring. An old fat lady tried to strangle me and was.saying I was Jesus and she was Mary and I was supposed to save her. Then of course there was the three days in spent locked in a padded cell for assaulting the staff. A lot of homeless people too.
Like I said it was under false pretense. They thought I was dangerous. I never did anything but speak up for myself and the injustice I faced. I thought it was pathetic that he feared me. I'm not dangerous unless threatened

Been admitted 2 times in my life. First time 1 month, second 3 months. Mostly objectively boring, meds are certainly helping though. But while being psychotic everything is much more.. interesting? I didn't really suffer from boredom, met some decent people in there, also the food was really delicious. Some strange or funny anecdotes to tell from that time. Second time a nice hot nurse always played ping pong with me when I was bored, first time was more fun though overall, but second time I had a more intense psychosis, plus the food was less tasty.
I had a pretty secure room and a bit more freedom to separate myself if I wanted to and I think that likely helped a ton. I couldn't imagine being forced to attend every little scheduled thing. I think that would have made t huh ings much worse for me.

I have spent time in a psych ward unlike most larpers on here. It is not fun at all. Your roommate is a methhead, it's impossible to sleep because every 15 minutes there's a strange african nurse throwing open the door for a room check, if you spend more than five minutes alone in the bathroom a stranger will start slamming on the door, by the way there are no locks so get used to paranoid schizophrenics opening the door while you're taking a shit, you're basically treated like a child in adult daycare but with less agency and shittier food, and all in all it's a miserable and unhappy experience
I'd like to emphasize how little sleep you get. I woke up my first night to the sound of my roomie, a panhandler picked up at a bus station, going through heroin withdrawal in the shared toilet. such disturbances are very common. people will sing and shout at all hours of the day and night

i'm not the German fellow, I was in an American psych ward a couple months ago, a real nightmare too. the area was pretty wealthy but it's still america so the public facilities are bottom of the barrel, basically a social dumpster one step above prison (or below, according to some of my fellow inmates). But even still, they let you occasionally use the internet and listen to the radio and watch television. They had a sort of social points system to teach people about money and personal hygiene, and if you took a shower and showed up to the group meetings then once every few days you could "spend " them on entertainment things, or combs or a new change of clothes or something.

I was in one for a month, no points system but they used privilege to help convince people to be good. Like how they took away all my clothes except for three sets of solid gray pajamas because I kept tying up my shirts.

I was in a psych ward once. I was tripping after a really severe episode of phycosis. I thought the nurses and staff were out to kill me and I thought the only way out was to confess to a bad crime so the police will take me out. So I told a nurse I traded CP and made up all this bullshit.
Well... the police never arrested me there. I actually got discharged and sent back home. About a week later like 20 police officers and U.S marshal's show up to my parent's house and took all the electronics. They interviewed me and I was still kinda fucked up still and I told the police i did look at CP and I was addicted to masturbation.
Well after about a week they returned the electronics and shit back to me and I was never charged.
0/10 would not recommend a ward to anyone.
