Which one you do doesn't matter, what matters is how far apart your arms are.

The dude with hair

Based
Pullup grip just outside shoulder width is the GOAT

Neutral grip pullups are king

BIG facts
destroys yer rhomboids with the force of high rep facepulls desu

obviously left side is better for FUNCTIONAL STRENGTH. If you're falling off a cliff and have to grab onto the edge, are you going to be able to take an underhanded grip? NO. Hope you're ready to fall off cliffs and die chinupfags.

literally doesnt matter
this doesnt matter either

what matters is how much weight you arr pulling up.

they both have carry over to each other if you can pull up 100lbs with a chin up grip normal pull ups are a joke

chin up were always easier, so I assume that whoever prefers them is a weak pussy dyel that wants to feel strong. pull ups or die.

pullups for AMRAP and chinups weighed.
now shut the fuck up and lift

But what if you fall facing forward and and have to grab behind you? Lol gg fag no re

Appearance wise Wide Grip Pull Ups look much more Alpha.

It I see someone bang out a set of WGPU I have to give them respect, Someone doing Chin Ups is just not as impressive.

But any exercise is better than no exercise.

Chin-ups are easier because of your biceps, but! You get a longer range of motion on chin-ups. So I’m my opinion, weighted chin-ups are better.

Its exactly the opposite for me always could bang out 3-4 more pullup reps than chinups.

It doesn't matter which you do, what matters is your mass. Nobody cared who I was until I pulled 250lbs for reps

just rotate between the two grips

>pulled 250 for reps
No, no you did not

why am i falling off a cliff?

If u had my Ex, you would probably have Jumped.

Overhand grip masterrace

I assume he means bodyweight included

I usually just do pullups. I cant get full ROM on chinups ever since I fucked up my wrist

>The Chad wide grip Pull-up
Vs
>The Virgin close grip Chin-up

i have a bad habit of bending my wrist downwards when i do any overhand pulling movements so i just do chinups.

Pull ups are harder for normies than chin ups, so do those to rub it in.

reddit post

they're entirely different exercises, it's not a debate. pull ups use your back, chin ups use your arms and biceps more.

virgin gay alien skull close grip chin up
chad warrior skull wide grip pull up

i think it's the opposite

Left guy is cuter

Why do you talk out of your ass about a subject you know nothing about?

>pull ups use your back, chin ups use your arms and biceps more.

I've always found pullups more comfortable than chinups, and I feel a better connection with my lats when I do them

lmao, warrior skull vs gay alien skull
#moggged

chin ups are easier than pull ups

This is the OBJECTIVE best form

OH NO NO NO

Why are you idiots not doing all three variations weighted?(chin-pull-neutral)

oh yeah nvm im retarded

Do both. Problem-o solved-o.

1. Most weight possible 2. Longest range of motion possible 3. Most muscle mass possible are the three criteria for an effective strength exercise. Of course bother exercises meet them, but the chinup meets them better with a longer range of motion and a greater amount of weight; as other anons have mentioned, chinups are easier. Everyone should do both if possible.

This guy is onto something. You're much less limited by your forearm work capacity. Which implies you can tax your back and shoulders much more.

Not that user but I weigh 260lbs and do chinups for reps.

I don't think we're supposed to take physiognomy this seriously guise

Attached: 1559284126297.gif (245x200, 497K)

I think it's just autism because in nature our ancestors would have been grabbing all kinds of shit from different directions. So any variation in grips is probably a good thing for body weight training. My autism really kicks in when loading becomes a factor because certain things about it are just not natural and you could be creating bad physiological imbalances if you're adding too much weight, not getting enough variation, not conditioned enough and other variables that could come into play.

Chin ups are for weak fags, pull ups are GOAT

With how much weight added on?

Good point.

You're the only one taking things seriously here mate

GOAT is rings because they are better for elbows and shoulders long term if you are doing them often and with heavy weights.

Rings let you start as a pull up and rotate slightly at the top for better, more natural ROM

But rings are hard to grip so actually those fiberglass rock rings they make for climbers are actually the best.

> it doesn't matter
That's absolute bullshit. Explain why it's useful to invoke your biceps when hitting your lats and upper back.

this is what every dyel that doesnt have any idea of whats talking about says

Wide grip greatly reduces ROM and most guys doing them just do little kips when they do them.

Chad is pull ups from slightly over shoulder width, from full extension, with at least a plate, for at least 8 reps. 2pl8 for 8 is where you can be legit proud.

because lats and back activation is almost exactly the same on both it shouldnt affect your back development at all

Fuck You

This.

grip width matters more.
closer grip stretches lats more, wider grip involves shoulder and scapular muscles more

By invoking your biceps for a back exercise you will fatigue yourself far more quickly than invoking only your back. You can test this by doing some deadlifts to upright rows and observing how astronomically lower your 1RM is compared to straight deadlifts.

I'm not denying that.

Chill, it was an exaggeration for the meme. I agree with your post
>at 1pl8 weighted pull up and dip

Probably because I'm about to push you.

RIPPLETOE RECOMMENDS CHINS SO THIS IS THE FINAL TRUTH CLOSE THIS THREAD

everybody hating like he's wrong
>people on this board
>making it
pick one.

I do weighted chin ups because they help with bicep development.
If that doesnt hit my back enough, then I have 5x20 kroc rows

Janae Rows*

She didn't change her last name you fucking chimp.

That's a good question, actually: since she changed her identity, should she retain the accomplishments she made as Matt?
