I did intervene plenty of times before and got nothing but grief for it. No positive outcome. I will try again when they come over for a visit, even if I don't know where to begin. I'm not taking him in to live with me full time. He already spends a month of his summer holidays here, and whatever I manage to do is quickly undone when he gets back home. And I'm sure as hell not uprooting my life to move closer to them.
