Theres also now a 50% chance that she will damage her other ACL because once a single ACL is damaged the they one tends to go as well. So I am potentially looking at $10000 to 15000 in vet bills for my dog.

The vet said since she is under 10kg that it might be possible it fixes itself and I can wait a few weeks to see what happens, but if it doesnt she will start to develop arthritis in the joint which will be painful for her.

This is why I am not sure it is even worth doing it based on the fact I cannot keep her from moving around fast. She is a energetic dog and I have never kept her in a cage. Apparently they need to be caged to avoid running for the first 4 to 6 weeks. I dont even own a cage and I am 100% sure she wont be happy having to be in one.

The thing is when she gets excited she puts weight on the leg as shown in pic related. Red is the ACL shes fucked.
I am dieting her down to 6kg, seeing if her dropping 15% bodyweight will help with it.
I am also feeding her mostly protein calories (red meat,chicken).
She seems to go from the leg being lame to it being active.
That said she is not in a position to be put down, as I said she is still running around on 3 legs, and she can shit and piss as normal
Don't pay for surgery. Just let your dog deal with it until he's in too much pain to enjoy life, then it's time to put doggo down.
