Mine is to accomplish my lifelong dream of being a male psychiatric nurse. What are your goals for the new year?
2019 Goals Thread
this is just too ridiculous, make a new thread and start over, OP.
I've wanted to be a psychiatric nurse for a while now, and now it's a Jow Forums meme? Reee
I'm also gay btw
every time i set a lifting goal i get an injury that completely changes my perspective on strength training, so i want to say '4pl8 deadlift' but maybe ill just cut about 20lb and get back into running
career wise i dont want to think about, i dont have control over the economy so im just gonna keep improving and be ready for whatever comes
Stay on the train this time.
Hit 2/3/4/5
Cut down to 75kg.
Stay in the same job from start to end of year.
Biggest dream of all is to make friends, even just one.
Maybe see a psych, someone I can vent to; I can't vent to my wife.
I want to become someone amazing, to fulfill the admiration I have for a friend. I cannot control how she feels about me, but I can perhaps become someone better so that I can be a better friend to her.
I fear that I take too much on at once, but I want to write play less games, write a draft for a novel, and practice drawing for an hour each day. As for fitness, I want to meet my goal of 30 minutes uninterrupted jogging, and 100 push ups.
Imagine being a little kid and wanting to be this when youre older
>Go to the gym three times a week minimum
>Eat 3000+ calories a day
>get a 3.5+ GPA semester in my computer engineering degree
>get an internship at a quantitative trading fund/tech company/investment bank
>get proficient enough at C++ to be able to get a high paying developer job straight out of college
>get a certification for French fluency
>get to 6'3 190lbs, get work as a model part time
>start my own business / start freelancing part time to build experience
>spam clubs and societies at my university until I learn how to fit in with normies
>save up to 8k in the bank
>start my own trading account, get my bloomberg certification
>practice the GRE, sit the CFA level 1 again
>become a proficient poker player
shredding down below 100kg im on 104 right now
learning french
getting that cutie i just go the number from
acing university
enjoy life
get into investing and finances in general
reading a few books
>a male nurse
Unironically becoming a registered nurse in 1 month after a botched attempt at a 5 year engineering degree
ask me anything
>Save up on money
>Get into investing and stock trading
>Bulk up
>tfw nurse
At least I'm no longer part of the doomers that complain about not having a job.
>to put on at least 20lbs over the course of the year (150lbs 5'11 rn)
>begin college
>obtain qt3.14 gf
>get another promotion
>hit 1/2/3/4, train more seriously
>open brokerage account
>buy new car
Wouldnt going into the army let you keep a little bit more of your dignity?
>dying for israel
I want to read at least one book per month, and practice my art skills at least for 10 mins a day
I'm reading Politics by Aristotle now
Im not saying that its a perfect (or even good) option, but from my point of view tens times better than getting into the health sector. From what Ive experienced its hell on earth.
>see my abs for the first time in my life
>pay off my loans
>write 2-3 screenplays
>move to a better apartment in a better area
>touch a naked woman after getting consent from her
This thread and OP are fucking BASED BASED BASED
It depends on who you are in the health sector
Sounds pretty easy senpai.
start college (my goal this year was to actually pass the national exam required score of 400/500 got 422
Also get bulk after losing weight
Went from 77kg at my fattiest to 64kg and starting to lift well
>get a cute gf
So I am actually a male psychiatric nurse. Guess what? My starting salary was $72,000. I work 3 days a week to be full time benefited. Cops don't give me speeding tickets. I get free coffee at the Wawa when I'm wearing scrubs and my badge.
You better be lifting hard the other 4 days
running at least a mile every single day and start dieting to consistently lose weight at a healthy pace. also to top smoking cigs and jerking off daily.
One of the things Ive realized is that even being a doctor aint that great. Checking the hernias of disgusting, brown subhumans who can't even speak your language is pretty degrading for everyone.
Just do like 30 mins of cardio on a bike and you will lose weight if you eat well
That's big a struggle, but I've been doing it. I have to do intense cardio plus lifting on those days, otherwise I can't fit it all in. It's fucking exhausting.
Go for it bro. I work in hospitals and wouldn't change it
>Male physio work in healthcare
>Always jobs, can pick and choose
>Decent money, can make bank if I go private
>women love it 'oh you can give me a massage etc.'
>Also gives good job satisfaction
Don't listen to these dildos who are training to be personal trainers and earn peanuts
OHP 242lb
Male nurse here.
Female nurses are total sluts. Either ignore them or go for it if it's your thing. Something about women being around piss and shit and gross stuff jives well with hypersexuality. Not sure if it's just like another bodily function to them or??? It's like all those gross out teen comedies that have lots of tits but also tons of fart jokes.
Not really my thing, and the men don't share those qualities. Not sure why this happens. I've seen so many foul vaginas and women with poor hygiene that I'm LESS sexual now than I've ever been. You ever smell a literal rotting vagina before?
Good luck you have a long road ahead and not a lot of sleep
Finally stop having pain from carpal tunnel and tendinitis I just want to lift again
dunno if it correlates but every chick i know in college rn who is pre nursing are usually the most slutty girls. usually in sororities too.
Remember to eat hard tho , nurses and shit are most of the times malnourished
I dont wanna learn French
everyone and their mother takes french as a foreign language
I wanna have a six pack again
I'm working nights soon too. All the night nurses just eat delivery every night and it LOOKS FUCKING GREAT but I don't want to dirty bulk like that. Then again, calorie dense shit might not be a bad idea when you really only get one meal for 12.5 hours.
>becoming a male nurse instead of an MD
hwy
Yeah because nursing is like the low IQ, low competitive, path for people interested in medicine. Not to say it isn't difficult, but it's way more chill than becoming or being a doctor
>1 year of school for $70K
OR
>12 years of school for $150K
HMMMMMMMMM, And yes, some specialities make way more as a doctor, but MANY do not. Some are barely 6 figures.
Just get someone to constantly deliver granola bars to you lmao
Even better, become an NP or CRNA, and make 90% of what an MD does with 1/10th the legal liability.
I will start MD studies next year on colombia , each year on private college is around 8k ; while public college is around 800$ ; I studied my shit out to enter the public one cause average family but yeah that career is pretty much the shit to enter and may not give corresponding gains
>1 year of school
Thats crazy in Sweden its 4 years
>finish bachelors degree
>take either a cissp or first sans course
>get under 200 lbs(215 atm)
>eliminate all credit card debt(about 4k to go)
>learn french
>learn how to play the keyboard I got for christmas(mfw I dont know how to read music let alone play anything)
LMAOOO male nurses trigger Jow Forums so hard. I guess it's understandable since it's a well paying, red pilled profession that has great job security.
Also would probably get as much pussy as doctors only downfall is wiping someone ass tho
I'm working on getting into college right now, but the goal I want for my life right now is to stop putting shit off and telling myself that I'll do something tomorrow
I'll gladly wipe ass 3 days a week for 70k starting and infinite nurse puss
Why learn french? I'm a native speaker and don't see why you'd pick it up unless you live in a french place
Is psych where you ended up or wanted
Anyone based enough would js that wiping ass is the worst part of the job
I'm going to apply for some psych nursing jobs after I get my license. Would you recommend it? Did you go straight into it or did you get some medsurg experience before?
Imagine going to school for 4 years to wipe old peoples ass and have to deal with white trash nurse coworkers
And it's typically done by the aides or cna
>Graduating this spring with meme applied math degree
>GPA not high enough for med school
>forgot how to code in C++ and Python
>now I can’t even get a fucking job when I graduate
>moving back home with my mom
>no REAL friends
>credit is fucked
We live in a cold world boys, without proper guidance, security in who you are and total confidence in your abilities you’ll be following in my footsteps and on the road to never making it.
>at least I hit 1/2/2/4 (Tore acl in high school, squats hurt)
In 2019, I vow to be a better man than I was the previous day.
>1 year
>In other countries it's 3/4 years
No wonder amerifat healthcare is so shit
gay
>psychiatry
>nurse
>psychiatry
>he fell for the jew psuedoscience meme
Enjoy forcing pills down retards and the demonically possessed OP.
I'll be doing that after 1 year of school as a cna
hmm
>drop 20-30lbs
>secure 300k+ job
>business generating 50k/mo
>train my gf to eat pussy
>make her cum so hard she passes out
i will do all these things
Dealing with schizophrenics is fun
Not the guy you replied to but I'm trained as a nurse but landed a job in a medical laboratory. All I do is press keys and do maintenance work for the apparatuses.
Literal dream job.
>everyone who disagrees with jew pseudoscience is schizophrenic
You're an retard.
>t. geneticist
Is this the 5'th post you've made about This in the past 2 months
Is that true?
I diagnose him with Narcissistic Personality Disorder. Please take your Aripiprazole OP
>we live in a society
You CAN get a bachelors if you want, but you don't have to. Also, there are no differences in quality of care between a BSN and ASN trained nurse. Education is a jew, and you and the Swede bitching about it both fell for it. Peer reviewed research consistently proves that over education does fuck all for job performance and outcomes. Muh Americans though, right?
It's where I wanted, but I'm rare in that sense. From what I've seen, many new nurses are getting into psych right away. Older nurses usually end up there after getting sick of med surg. But either way, there is a huge need for more people. It's not for everybody.
I went straight into psych. As I said above, this is a trend with many new nurses because the need is so high they won't require med surg, and also because the golden calf of "YOU NEED A YEAR OF MED SURG EXPERIENCE NO MATTER WHAT" is slowly being butchered. I recommend it, but I would also say go do some sharetime to see if it's for you. If you think it might be, go into it and never look back. There's so much need and opportunity you can set your own terms in many places.
Also BTW American healthcare is the best, full stop. Don't confuse it being expensive with it being bad. There's a reason rich people fly into America from all over the world for our hospitals and not some gay Euro nation. Your healthcare is SHIT; it just costs less. Big difference, hoss.
Not kill myself.
>metro bus operator
>pretty chill and kickback
I’m getting to comfy lads
This fucking guy starting another thread. What the fuck is wrong with you OP?
How do I become a psych nurse? My fed job sucks people treat me like shit and I have to keep working despite not getting paid.
Ya and I'm the prime Minister of China lmao. Whatever you say buddy
My goal is similar, to finally complete the courses needed to go study at a university. I still live at home and want to move out to another city. I feel like it is very much hindering me going out of my comfort zone.
>go to nearest junior college
>complete pre reqs
>enter accelerated program
>be nurse in 1 year
>apply to psych nurse position and be instantly accepted as a man
It also doesn't hurt to work as a tech during school for a guaranteed job. You can be a cna after the first semester of school
Theres more than a few male nurses on the board. This should be well established fact by now for you friend :)
Most boring pick for foreign language
9/10 times someone is learning a foreign language it is French
>implying learning french is a bad thing
hurr durr learning a universal language is boring hurr
learn something like senegalese durr
>universal
Lol for a few nigger countries. Actual french know english anyway
Hey look. Countries that speak english. Neat!
Advanced Care Paramedic who makes 110,000 annually. Wife is a psychiatric nurse and started at 75,000 where do you live? Are you gay?
Imagine your face when you realise the majority of people just settle into careers that pay the bill. The majority of people aren't passionate about their career. The majority of people just want comfortability and would be hesitant to change companies for the same job let alone change job title. The delta-v required to change your life trajectory after your early 20s is extremely high, many people can't escape this trajectory even if they wanted to.
Your face the likelihood of you being in this position is nearly 100%.
Nope the range is $200-500k
The 4 years is actually pretty fun. Medicine is fascinating
I would never be a male RN and be a doctor’s bitch boy literally taking orders all day
You didn’t go to med school because you would never get in. Only 2% of applicants do
Ooo wow this brainlet actually only speaks 1 language. Want to know how I know your lower class you fucking poor low IQ piece of inbred shit.
>not having a life outside of your job
No thanks
Medic here. If I could I'd go into med school. I'm also a P.A in the armed forces but I would never ever be a male RN
Your dream is weird. And why specify "male"? You want to transition?
> quant trading
> tech
> investment banking
Lmao what an absolute meme. Enjoy living someone else’s life.
Cath Lab.
0 patient care.
Arguably highest acuity area you could be in. Every procedure has a significant complication risk. At least 1-2 crashes on a normal week.
Scrub in. Pushes wires, inflate balloons, guide intra-arterial cameras, insert devices, insert new valves, whatever. Manage sedation, airways, resuscitation, whatever. There's 1 doctor in the room so every RN is expected to be operating as MD-lite to cover the other areas.
Basically you get called in to rescue people having heart attacks, save them, and then turf them to the ward and you go home.
Given the acuity of the area & the expected skill/higher education of the nursing staff it's basically cowboy shit. We're allowed to do alot of shit without oversight, it's closed doors and we operate within the hospital system but we self manage. We earn them too much money and the area is so chaotic/dangerous & the skill required for all staff is so high that the hospital generally abides and looks away indiscretions.
Transitioning into paramedic positions or advancing into acute care mid level positions is quite easy from cath lab. The acuity means once you say 'oh yeah I worked in cath lab' pretty much any acute care area blow their load + it's one of the few areas where you're not viewed as a fuckin retard by MDs other than ICU.
Radiographer here. Comfiest job I've ever had
> The 4 years is actually pretty fun. Medicine is fascinating
I mean, you're being semi-ambiguous with your language as to imply you went to med school/are in med school. Let's make it clear, you very obviously have done/are doing neither.
You forgot the most important one: start setting more realistic goals.
>4 years and thousands of hours clinical placement in a variety of settings vs 1 year
Totally the same thing bro
>male
>nurse
>Are you gay?
Not him but why is that relevant?
