I'd love to live on a farm and grow myself the food I need to survive

You can always be a WOOFer

Have you ever milked cows ? Drived a tractor ? Or just worked outside no matter the weather for hours ? Do you know what are you talking about ?

Keep dreaming, OP, because that's all its ever going to be.
Also, l o fucking lo
Your mental health is suffering from being a uni student and you think being a farmer is going to be easy, huh? You're like that city kid in Silver Spoon who wanted to work on a farm because he thought it was just a bunch of dumb hillbillies doing easy work.
Well sorry to burst your bubble, but farmers are some of the most stressed out people on the planet and the work is hard.

>my source: a fucking manga

I'm sure OP is talking about more of a personal, self-sufficiency sort of farming, not massive commercial agriculture. I would also guess that he has the feelings he does because he would rather a simpler life, with the labor it entails being directly related to his well-being and sustenance, rather than competing among thousands of other wageslaves to earn a meager wage that indirectly translates into sustenance.

I might be projecting, though.

>say his retarded post reminded me of something
>claims im using it as a source
No wonder you're failing college.

There's various literature on the matter that being (and becoming) a farmer isnt as easy as you think.

But you probably already know this anyway but if you insist here's an article that explains it pretty well for delusional city boys.

Like I mentioned earlier, keep dreaming op and enjoy dropping out later and working at Target for the rest of your life like the rest of the drones.

Not easy to farm. Very physically demanding

we get it, you read manga

seething

THIS

No way most people could handle the hours ( 6:30am-6:30pm normally) the brutal labor, especially on 'organic' farms where a lot of work is still done without machines. Ever de-weeded and then harvested a leek/carrot/squash/cabbage field completely by hand? It's not fucking fun. All animals are filthy, cows are awful, they're quite happy to walk around in their own shit and just piss where they stand. And the flies, my god there are flies everywhere, always. There's a lot more to farming than most people think
t. farmer

>implying im seething about getting (you)'s

Do farm for yourself or for profit?

How do you make money?

Growing field and field of vegetables to sell to local supermarkets, also a lot of money comes from cow milk. Also some side money renting out parts of the farmhouse to tourist/Airbnb holiday couples for a few days at a time. Money is not great but luckily there's a huge amount of leftovers from the fields that aren't good enough to be sold so starving is never a problem. Protip if you ever see people harvesting a carrot field by hand, stop and ask if you can take any twisted or small carrots they they will just leave behind anyway, normally they'll say yes

Behold, the walking dairy meatsacks.
Working with them actually made me feel less sorry for them, they're even dumber than most people think

Yeah, most herbivores are.

Cows even more so. They would have gone extinct long ago if we werent protecting them.

I can practically smell through my computer.

cute cows

I will save up all the cash I get and buy land for a ranch. Maybe grow some fruits and raise cute goats and lambs. Fuck the modern materialist world

Just how clueless can someone be. Is it the popsci youtubers or something?

I feel sorry too, especially when separate the calf from it's cow. It's a pain in the ass.

Thats sad. Image being born just to live life on metal hooks in the dark surrounded by shit.

Cows are really dumb though.

The last species of wild "cows" was hundreds of thousands of years ago. They were 5 times larger, and twice as aggressive.

They were eventually wiped out by predators and changes in their environment but we took the more docile ones and domesticated them essentially saving them from extinction.

No no normally they're out walking in the fields most of the day like pic related, they only come in the barn for sleeping or for milking time, just giving them some food before we let them out again to roam until calling them back in the late evening
