It's not really about motivation or discipline it's about habit.

Ultimately if you want to look good you'll lift and if you don't then you won't. It's that simple. If you don't have the mental ability to keep going then clearly you just haven't suitably incentivised yourself. Because the benefits 100 percent outweigh the costs objectively.

The main thing is consistency. Any plan done consistently will beat an excellent plan done randomly.

Going back today after two weeks off working alot, scared if i’m honest. It’s Saturday too so it’s going to be full and my periodization of higher reps is going to fail and ppl will laugh at me only doing 3x5 2pl8 bench reps instead of 3x8

I agree 100%, to achieve something you have to stop being little bitch and put in the effort. Gym is comfy and I don't even consider it bothersome, only problem is getting bored of a program and cooking quality meals but it feels good to grow.

Once it becomes habit you don't really need motivation. I go to the gym and lift heavy 5 days a week because it's part of my routine, and I feel anxious if I don't do it.

Maybe you're one of those people that is able to be content just being a fat piece of shit playing WoW all day. If you are, then just embrace the NEET lifestyle. I would love it if I could do that, but I was cursed with this damn ambition. :(

This is true, but a lot people don't understand that discipline essentially just means sticking to a habit pattern you've consciously established. Make going to the gym part of your routine, OP. If you don't have a routine, then going to the gym can be the beginning of one.
