Is it ok to do rows "for strenght"
>So 5x5 or 3x5 etc
Or will i ruin my back by doing it?

deadlifts + chinups > rows
>not doing all three
Rows are objectively superior to deadlifts
Row are great for your back, why would you think this would ruin it?
>why would you think this would ruin it?
Have you tried doing 3x5 of rows where every rep is a struggle and the last one is almost impossible? Tell me how that doesn't hurt your back even a little
Yeah, as long ah you keep your back straight and your core tight you shouldn't have any problems. I don't know what you're doing wrong, but you're probably lifting more than you can actually handle if you're letting your form break down that badly.
One word: deload. You probably fuck up your form too.
If every single rep is a struggle than it’s too heavy.
Just do lighter weight for more reps and/or cheat
Look up the Strong Lifts program
Has you doing rows and DL
Strength training as a totally green lifter is retarded, your core is weak, you probably have imbalances, your mibility is probably shit, and you have shit muscle activation. Lifting as much as you can should be the last thing you are trying to do
all beginner programs have you start with the empty bar for a reason.
SS doesn't
your form suck ass
i cheated higher weights and thats where my lower back started hurting
do them proper
Based
It's good to do barbell rows for strength then dumbbells or certain machines for hypertrophy.
then what is it i should be trying to do? working on those things? how? I started exercising in january, dropped 40kg and stagnated early in my lifts. My bench and squat are not going up despite still being dyel tier. Im a former fatty so i shouldnt need more food to progress since im still fat at 90 kg 190 cm.
Do less weight dumbass
Fucking this. Why not both though. Got to 185 3x5 for rows and my chins to 14 at 191BW... without concentrating on them specifically. Now its time for weighted chins.
t. doesn't know how to do a fucking row
if you can't handle barbell rows do one armed dumbbell rows heavy. also do some fucking ab work you pussy
had that same problem cuz back was much stronger than abs
had to isolate abs and then start rowing
What a fucking idiot. If you struggle on every rep then deload to less weight. Moron.
>only does 15 reps of an exercise
>hurr dur I. Cant do a single rep wahh
Do less weight w better form
I like to do 3x4-6 of heavy T-Bar Rows and then deload 10-20kg and do 2x10-15 with better form. As long as your lower back is straight, you're golden.
Thoughts on Pendlay rows?
Do powercleans instead. Rows off of the floor are an ancillary exercise.
r u retarded. Everybody has shit mobility, it's not like people stretch or something. Weak core is a meme.
you have no understanding of lifting weights.
Barbells rows are a meme. I could barbell row 2pl8+ for 5x5 great form without injury but I quit and I feel so much better and stronger day to day.
Do heavy deadlifts for one set plus warmups, and stick to bench supported dumbbell rows. You'll get strong and stay healthier.
Barbell rows and dradlifts in the same routine are asking for trouble.
