Hey Jow Forums, how many of you guys work out whilst high?

I work out 3 or 4 times a week and around 90% of the times I work out I have smoked weed before the work out itself. I feel that it helps me concentrate on my form and breathing. I wouldn't say it helps me increase my performances, but neither does it make my performances worsen in any way. I just like to work out and I like being high, and the two go together quite well. Are there any people here who think alike?

It definitely gets me in the zone, but if I smoke too much I get paranoid and I'm more tired between sets. But overall I love it.

just because it's legal doesn't mean it's a panacea or even half good. weed is one of the most boring drugs out there.

I use a sativa oil cartridge. Smoking flower doesn't give me the same energy boost

Retard. Amphetamines give you energy, sure, but they fuck your recovery up which is what actually matters. The few times I've been high when working out I've really liked it. You can really feel the muscle contract and stretch and it feels great. I don't feel it makes me lazy because the feeling is so good I crave getting back under the bar to feel it more.

I smoke weed all day every day but I could never smoke before lifting or cardio. I'm still a fat arse so maybe it'll change once I've lost more weight but I'm down 2 stone so far and I can't strain myself while all my muscles are relaxed. Love smashing a dab right after working out though.

Everytime I smoke I get brain fog for at least 3 days. It's like my IQ drops by 20 points. I have no idea how anyone can smoke regularly and be functional.

When I'm sitting there shaking and shit I take out all of that on some heavy ass squats and it feels good as fuck. And yeah I also am able to focus on the lift more and keep form better.

Weed has always been my secret to how I’m able to get results so fast. It makes me hyperaware of my form and what I need to work on to get a better workout, but I never realized that not everyone gets that hyperawareness when they smoke. Maybe it’s genetic?

I had acquaintences seething when they saw that I was getting better results in a shorter amount of time and less weight.

thanks for real studies about the effects, when they say acute administration of cannaboids what do they mean? If its a small dose then that would be hugely concerning. If it means they are treating them with super concentrated extracts then it would be less concerning. Any ideas? I cant find it in the study.

Ok I went through it and the study cited was not only performed in fucking Nigeria (hardly likely to be worth a damn) but they fed the rats a dose of thc concentrate at their body weight which would be equivalent to me downing 640mg of edible sativa every day for a month. Which I am pretty sure would kill me let alone any affect it would have on my fucking nuts.

If you ever have a summer or something to focus on yourself though - get high as a fucking kite and lift 4 hrs a day... mad gainz. Would love to do it again but I work full time now

A: the primary source that catalogs a ton of other studies uses a weird study out of nigeria to make the claim regarding lower testosterone
B: In that study they gave the rats a huge fucking dose way more than any human would ever or should ever be consuming.

OP here. I don't think I need it, but I like the effects of it on my work out. I don't smoke because I do it for my results, I just happen to like smoking weed and working out and it is quite nice to combine both in my opinion. When I was younger I did work out without smoking weed and my results were quite similar as they are nowadays. So in the end it looks like it doesn't matter much whether I smoke weed or not.

Read the other studies while you're at it.

If I'm in a slump with my big lifts I do a high volume deload with a few hits off a vape pen to rewire the mind muscle connection.

If you can genuinely say it has a positive effect on your session, then keep smashing it. For me, it makes the weight feel so much heavier and I prefer to burn herb when I wanna relax so I save it til after.

The other three studies under the section on testosterone are all in regards to cigarette smoking on testosterone and cortisol. I am sure the social autism is true but I am already a fucking autist so this doesnt really apply to me as I am a lost cause.

Weed is terrible for working out because it makes you think you're doing better than what you actually are. You're probably lifting pussy weight with 10 minutes between sets and thinking it's brilliant because I CAN REALLY FEEL MY MUSCLES BRO. It's the same effect as having your mind blown by something completely mundane.

I can't say I lift that much, but I definitely don't take 10 minutes between sets. Usually I go with a buddy and once he is done with his set, I go, and we don't talk much in between. So in general I get as much rest as the time I spent working out.

I smoke because I’m so lonely and pathetic that I can’t stand myself sober. It gives me more joy when reading, lifting and listening to music so I rely on it. It’s an addictive cope but it’s all I got right now. I do smoke a lot less than I used to and instead of binge eating I focus my high into intermittent fasting. When I’m hungry I smoke, out headphknes in and then dance my heart out

Same here, the perception of my muscular imperfections is greater on weed and I can feel the individual muscle strands.

same for me but it also makes me lazy for lifting, however it makes me hyper aware of stiff muscles and sore joints after lifting, and because of this awareness I can come up with ways to easily stretch wherever I need.
