What's so wrong with lifting in these?
I don't get it
This is one of the most popular lifting shoes wtf are you talking about nigger
dude I used to lift with running shoes... Imagine squating with shit like that
That's what I'm saying but people on here constantly make fun of it
These are way better than running shoes. Running shoes aren't flat, these are. And these have decent ankle support
Nothing, if you have the ankle mobility to squat in them go ahead. Most people who are serious get oly shoes tho
These are great to squat and deadlift in, you really are missing out on a lot not using them
How much better are they though
Nothing other than barefoot is better than this.
yea user I'll buy these as soon as I can...
I squatted in those all summer. Tried squatting with running shoes and it just feels weird without them. Wen't from a 185 5x5 squat all the way up to 285 5x5 in 2 months. Don't squat anymore but would recommend these to anyone who squats or lifts
Are these double dubs trying to tell me to quit squatting?
Double dubs confirm
I don't like them for sumo. I'm tearing them apart at the little toe part. Barefoot (with cotton socks) feels more stable.
I use Chuck's for running. I have flat feet and these have been the only ones I can run with.
they're alright. It's serves as a hard soled canvas shoe.
but here's the thing, shoes barely bend if you're wearing minimalist shoes anyways, and minimalist shoes are better for deadlifting because you're closer to the ground.
also the true problem of shoes bending only comes from power cleans, which is why Mark Rippetoe recommends Chucks, but if you're doing olympic lifts in conjuncture to squats you might as well just pay $70 ~ $140 for olympic weightlifting shoes so they truly don't bend.
Nothing wrong with these.
I used them and switched to running shoes only when the sides were bursting out because I've got wide feet and these are narrow.
If I had the cash I'd buy another pair for lifting, way more stable under weight and ankle support.
>Running shoes aren't flat,
that's not the reason.
running shoes are bad for lifting because they compress due to their spongey foam material. these are HARD.
it's hardness, not the flatness. if anything oly shoes are better for squats and cleans because they're angled.
Whats Jow Forums opinion on vans for lifting? Are they as good as Chucks? Are they at least better than running shoes?
>Flat, non compressible sole
Checks out
nothing other than those being some of the gayest shoes every made
same thing as chucks
any canvas shoe works
You'll look like a fuckboy curlbro but that might be what you're going for
Lol, I own a pair of high top Chucks and love deadlifting with them but in summer they make me look kind of goofy because it's too hot for using anything else than shorts.
Will wearing chucks help me get braphogs attention in the gym?
There's literally nothing wrong with high top shoes, crew socks and shorts.
Yes.
Throw them at said braphog/s for best results.
They're fine for lifting but if you just buy them for the gym, you're better off just spending 70$ on actual entrylevel shoes like some 3.1s or Do-wins or something.
and desu idk anyone my age that still wears chucks outside the gym
Anyone else use their old wrestling shoes?
>all these newfags trying to bait people into buying a terrible shoe for lifting that has been proven over and over to fuck your shit up.
bravo, truly the biggest trolls
opinions on adidas gazelle?
The most jacked dudes on my gym wear Chucks. Powerlifters, Oly shoes. Black dudes, a mix between Jordans, Timberland boots and some Chucks.
The rest, default running shoes/sneakers.
i think it's a placebo effect but ever since i started wearing these, i've felt like my lifts have gone up significantly.
Only shoes i really wear at the gym are chucks, work boots or some shitty dress shoes i have for work.
black bottoms, those are not indoor shoes
looks like adidas sambas but with a gayer name
i can only imagine the type of fairy who likes wearing their gazelles
My legs are fucked up in a way that only Jordans actually make me walk properly so I just workout in those
You mean your legs are black?
Unless you're squatting super, duper wide they will almost always benefit you. The hard bottom of the shoe makes squatting a lot more stable and comfortable while the heel keeps you more upright, regardless of ankle mobility. Get a hard surface flat shoe if you don't like oly shoes but theyre definitely worth the try.
Ever heard of a shadow? retard
Yeah, I own a set of both as of Christmas and I've yet to notice a concrete difference. I usually use my Vans for boxing
cardio would be your only problem, these babies have zero fucking traction
Never knew chucks were such popular gym shoes.
I had an old pair I was about to retire because I wrecked the shit outta em while going out and stuff.
But is right they're absolute shit for cardio
are niggers shadows too?
because what's on those bottoms is the color of the material, not a shadow
TTTTTTTRRRRRROOOOOLLLLLLL
I know this struggle.
Partially correct.
But for everything besides squats and cleans, flatter is better.
"Honestly, you flirt like a woman!"
Yes, work fine. Also good for boxing and sneaky ninja/hardcore parkour shenanigans.
Have been wondering if they are passable for rock climbing and dancing.
at this point they are tryhard. you better be lifting 1/2/3/4 before you put these on in order to not look like a tryhard faggot
I literally can not find a pair in that color that isn't size 15 and
i used to use wrestling shoes for boxing until i got boxing shoes
oh man boxing shoes are so much better with that sturdy thin base instead of the thin floppy base
I lift in my old sambas I used for indoor soccer
I only lift in my Prada loafers, peasants
