Supplements

Someone redpill me on supplements. Are they 100% a complete waste of time and money and offer ZERO benefits regardless of deficiencies, health, and exercise or do they play a small factor in any way?

I'm currently taking:

>probiotic
>vitamin d3
>magnesium citrate
>turmeric
>multi-vitamin
>omega 3
>spirulina
>psyllium husks
>alpha-lipoic acid

since basically nobody gets the perfect meal that covers every single base, you take supplements - but it's always better to get the real deal over factory made synthetic shit

If you have a healthy and balanced diet and still have deficiencies, it can help to take supplements. Its still much better to get your nutrients from food. But if you have a bad diet and think you can make up for it by taking supplements, then you are fucked and wasting your time and money.

Quit ala and turmeric and probably quit the multi.
>turmeric
>not wanting dht
Also-
>ALA
>needing to supplement more PUFAs when you’re already supplementing omega-3

vitamin k2 mk7 and creatine should be added.
Multivitamin should be taken very rarely, assess your results accordingly.

Multivitamins don't do shit. I thought this was well-known at this point. A simple google search will reveal this.

100% a meme
Just eat a healthy diet

But I mean, a fool and his money are soon parted

Lol you got jewed so hard bro
>probiotic
Just eat probiotic food
>turmeric
Smells like shit and is useless
Etc...

Probiotic might be good to supplement because fermented foods also contain yeast and probably some other bacteria that aren’t beneficial, so you should go for a quality probiotic supplement with specific strains of bacteria

I unironically take daily

>vitamin k2
>vitamin d3
>vitamin c
>vitamin b complex
>biotin
>magnesium
>zinc
>BCAA
>Whey
>Creatine
>Taurine
>L-arginine
>Ashwagandha
>Ecklonia Cava
>Omega 3
>probiotics
>phenibut (once per month or so)

Do you think I'll be having any problems in the long term?

based

look up what "bioavailability" is. A lot of these supplements either dont even fucking get digested in your body or they become useless after chemically reacting with the air they are packaged in. Just eat fucking food, its worked for thousands of years spend the extra $5 to get an entire fucking chicken instead of some faggy pills

BCAAs are a meme if you're using whey, since that contains a crapton of BCAAs. Don't know about other forms of protein supplements though.

>probiotic

What kind OP? Been thinking about trying one, get a lot of gurgling.

Mornings: pregnenolone, theanine, taurine, citrulline, 2 cups of black coffee.

Midday/lunchtime: multi vit, fish oil, lecithin, zinc

Nighttime: magnesium citrate, melatonin, ashwaghanda

Gym: creatine, bcaa, whey

I'm more interested in the unnatural stimulant stuff now. Caffeine + l-theanine works for me really well and I want to find more. My kefir shakes I make for free are also great.

Yeah your problem be having wasted a ton of cash

3g beta alanine, 8g citruline, 200-600mg caffeine as a preworkout. I'm sure I can notice a difference and it's not too expensive
a multi, 45mg of zinc, some fish oil, 5000iu d3 as a regular vitamin stack that I'm not entirely sure does anything (except for zinc which noticeably increases my libido and erections ) but I'd rather be safe than sorry because my diet has little variety.
5g collagen, 800mg chondroitin, 3g msm, 3g glucosamine to help me with my knee problem (still testing this "stack")
5g of creatine. increased my strength and muscle fullness just a little bit

OP here

Another reason I take what I listed because I read they have a lot of anti-inflammatory properties and can help with acne and inflammation which I'm trying to improve, too. Psyllium for the extra fiber and better shits.

I realize actually eating the nutrients would be better but it's tough to do that day in and day out even though I try to eat well and not have big portions.

nothing crazy expensive

I take ZMA and vitamin D before bedtime, everything else seems like a meme.

Multivitamins and other obvious supplements are reasonable. Many of the nutrients are having compounds that are mostly bioaccessible, if not the most prevalent option already.

>chicken
… Has few micros, even B vitamins.

That memery is similar to suggesting eating protein for serotonin and dopamine (because they're derived from amino acids), or even pharmaceuticals (which are stimulating areas when it's possible producing more of the actual substances), when 5-HTP and L-DOPA are available commerically (and the former of which is much safer than tryptophan, but both of which are safer / better taken with strong antioxidants such as Sangre de Grado and astaxanthin).

>dht
There are many associated-benefits to reducing DHT, especially amongst hypoglycemia, increased T instead (because that's plausibly the objective of T-supporting diets and supplements, it being much more stable and effective), increased sensation, libido, and orgasm, increased (experiences with) flavors and appetites, and increased GH.

PS: The safety of a multivitamin depends on its nutriments.

daily use
