>Sparring in muay thai >Opponent is really aggressive southpaw >Less skilled but willing to brawl >Getting beat and pressured >Can't do shit
>Next round, tell myself to stand and fight >Stop overthinking and just strike >Strikes start landing consistently >He's less aggressive >Can do whatever I want to do
What is this phenomenon called? I've noticed that when I stop thinking and just throw whatever combos I know, everything just works for me.
back when i trained kickboxing competitively nothing i enjoying more than sparring and i loved throwing leg bending low kicks and throwing hard jabs right in my opponents mouth maaan that feels good Find your rythm and flow user and stay focused and good things will come Water can flow but it can also crash.
INHIBITION That is the word. Biggest enemy in your life, and ultimately your goal is to live with as little of it as possible.

Flow. Introduced by Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi. Basically it’s not so easy it’s boring and not so hard that it’s frustrating.
Wyatt Morales
You got confident, you stopped thinking about getting hit and the fear that comes from it disappeared. Your opponent on the other hand got worried and started thinking twice because he started to get hit so he flinched and backed down, which created a feedback for you to keep pressing and feeling more comfortable in attacking

Flow. Your body reacts to the environment much earlier than our conscious perception receives and calculates on the "present". When you silence the mind, you allow more awareness and energy into your meat vehicle

i got kicked off from a boxing gym because i told them i didnt even do exercise, when in reality i had a +270 lbs weighted dip at 180 lbs bodyweight and a 270 lbs muscle clean and like 6 years if working out, i also was a sprinter
when i got to sparr guy between 180-200 lbs id beat the shit out of them, the trainer was suspicious i was on something so he kicked me because i was "on roids" lmao
anyways i wasnt on roids but on hardcore creatine and my body was shreded like a knife
this was like 5 year ago, now i dont even lift because i hit a big ass plateau a short time after and got bored
Isaac Jenkins
forgot to do mention that i also lied on my age haha,i told them i was 18, now i remember he kicked me when he found out i was 28

i kind of let myself go now but try to stay active
regarding thinking about getting hit and fear when i was 16 i used to spar a very skilled dude who was 19 at the time and weighed more but was a manlet and when we sparred he usually tried to cut the distance and clinch me but i always focused on not getting hit because of my broken fucking nose nd i developed a very good defence but my most spectacular fight was when i didnt carea bout my nose or how much i got hit i just thought of how could i win this fight and i always moved forward and won the match

please use punctuation or something, this shit is so hard to read
This. The moment your opponent sees you have skill too he will be more cautious and won't be so much on the offensive. It gets better. Every time you compete you come back to train the next day and feel unstoppable. It's a positive loop. The more you compete, the hungrier you get when you train and the better you become for your next fight. I was a nervous wreck in my first mma fight too
user, would you help me train? I'd like to compete in 4 years,3 if I'm lucky.
Carter Hughes
Sure what do you need help with?

Gay. I know quite a few happy blissful people that are morons and most likely never make above 5 figures in a job and couldn't care less about truth. I also know pissy cunts that are powerful and have good careers and hot girlfriends.
Just be aggressive during sparring. Attacking causes your opponent to defend, or at least wait out your onslaught. Talented fighters can interrupt your convo and counter you. I like to use a lot of feints. Throw three low kicks then a high. I also switch between southpaw and orthodox when I feel like it. Def pays to train both. Keep them guessing and they will be hesitant to attack. For the brawlers I like a nice teep or straight jab. Then again I suck so take it with a grain of rice
Where should I really start? I'm reading the article of expressing the human body but I'm 100% worried about looking like a meme person in the gym.
My gym has a heavy bag, is it weird to bring my wraps and gloves?
How do you breathe through your nose for a fight or do you breathe out of your mouth? I'm just filled with questions and want to make my dream come true.
Lincoln Young
OH NO NO NO NO NO
Samuel Jackson
>Where should I really start? Either find a good MMA gym and start with that, or learn some other combat sport. I started with BJJ then tried MMA after that. But you can start directly with MMA training. >My gym has a heavy bag, is it weird to bring my wraps and gloves? No, why would it be weird to make use of the heavy bag provided by your gym? >How do you breathe through your nose for a fight or do you breathe out of your mouth? I personally inhale through the nose and exhale through the mouth when fighting, it's not too different from how you breath when lifting.
Angel Davis
that picture is one of the dumbest things I have ever seen in my life
Yeah, soft age cutoff for fighting is like 35 for striking, 50 for grappling. BJJ maybe it’s 60.
Kayden Gutierrez
Also injuries vary on the combat sport you do and what you focus on.
Nathan Myers
If you’re hoping to compete, you need to find a gym that competes, also do lots of cardio. Do some light bag work, but realize that you’ll be picking up bad habits.
Jace Richardson
I really wanna try out boxing, the movement just seems so slick and beautiful. but my body shape is weird as FUCK. I got big strong legs and a comparably smaller upperbody. I am 6'4 (192cm). and most boxers I see are literally the opposite. in fact it seems like skinny legs BENEFIT you in boxing because you can move faster and when I look at the physiques of pros a lot of them have tiny wheels too.
I am naturally clumsy at this height too. the only good thing is that I have wide-ish shoulders.
if you act like a dumb cunt teeing off on weaker sparring partners the coach isn't going to throw you out he'll just pair you with a pro fighter to beat your ass
