It's entirely dependent on you. People who say their relationship is what's stealing their gains are just making excuses, it's them choosing to spend even more time with their gf instead of spending the hour or two it takes to go to the gym a few times a week. People can go through a relationship and continue making gains, or they can do it and completely stop lifting, it's all on them and what they want to prioritize.

There is a direct trade off between discipline and intimacy, and vice versa. That's why monks are celibate, you can't devote your time to a single purpose and excel at it if you have dependants. However, most of us aren't excellent and it's advantageous for us to sacrifice a little discipline for intimacy.
Well my gf cooks for me and without her income I don't think we'd so comfortably afford gym passes.

Gf and I both put weight on in the 6 months following us getting together. I started lifting, dropped the fat, bulked for over a year, feeling fucking joocy now and ready to cut for summer. Problem is she's not exercised once and hates me suggesting it. I've made clear my feelings but she'll ignore it and come back later like I never mentioned it. What do? Still think she's attractive with lucky fat distribution genetics but I won't deny she's overweight by now. Would appreciate some fucking effort from her.

yea it is. My girlfriend was my gym buddy even then and in the end I ended up phoning in all my lifts to save time from changing the weight on the bar and losing all my gains. After a year in a relationship I'm pretty skinny fat but my shit job is mostly to blame for that.
The only time I've ever had a relationship hinder my training was when I had sex five times in one day and my hips were tired for squats the next day. I made sure to not be on top so often the day before/of squats after that. Easy fix.
