So there's LA Fitness, 24 hr Fitness, Anytime Fitness, and Planet Fitness near my house, which one shoulf I join? I don't make enough money so I don't want to overspend, can I just buy dumbbells and do pushups to get strong?
So there's LA Fitness, 24 hr Fitness, Anytime Fitness, and Planet Fitness near my house, which one shoulf I join...
Planet fitness. Literally nothing wrong with that gymlike place
Planet Fitness
>pros
>cheap
>dumbbells that go to 75
>open 24-7
Cons
>no barbells, so you will plateau very quickly.
>cheap cost attracts a lot of people you will want to avoid.
>pizza/bagel days.
>lunk alarms.
Use your own fucking brain we don't know what matters the most for you. Compare price/distance from home/equipment/how busy it is/how comfy it is. If you have enough place you could buy a half rack and bench and compare to prices, if you only want ottermode then do calisthenics+bands for isolations+hill sprints etc
Saw pictures of the one near my house, and there's a lot of cardio machines?
I don't want to go and socialize with people, so If I do join it I'll go as early as possible
Planet Fitness is a fucking shit hole
LA fitness is a mixed bag. They have multiples of every machine you could possibly want and they're usually very clean. Where LA fitness falls short is that they pretty much only have machines and barbells. They also have the goofy dodecagon plates. There's absolutely nothing for Oly lifting, strongman stuff, or anything like that. That said their cardio equipment selection and quality is usually great. Thot/twink supply is locationally dependent.
tl:dr - LA fitness is an aggressively normie tier gym.
kill yourself
There's also Fitness19
Pros
>super cheap
>not well known but has the same exact equipment as an LA or 24hr Fitness
>rarely crowded
Cons
>no pool or basketball court
>locker facilities are limited
>no steam room
Most Anytime Fitness spots are pretty good. They have pretty much all you need but it depends on the location. Mine has a few power racks and tanning booth, but I’ve seen some that don’t.
OP here, sadly the town where I'm from s super crowded with normies so I'm pretty sure that gym is overkilled too, I know where its at and the parking always seems full, would have to go early as fuck to avoid the crowd I guess.
Yup that place seems too normie
I've been to LA fitness locations in 6 states and Canada and I can confirm its painfully normie, with a sizable population of well to do black people.
>no barbells
what
I keep reading about ending contracts, it seems like you have to do a lot to end their contract
If I do a one year contract, and I don't decide to renew, will they still charge me?
Look for a smaller gym, prerably one for strongmen/oly/powerlifting.
24 hr is nice they are open 24 hours if you did not know that now you do
fuck i just got a year at anytime fitness
my gym owner seemed cool though he said he would freeze it for me if I couldn't pay.
I cancelled mine for about a year when I moved. Literally as simple as walking in and telling them when I was leaving and would drop off their fob. Could just depend on shitty staff?
I've been going to an LA Fitness about 30 seconds from my house for the last three years. It's great but it's pretty much packed all day so you either have to go first thing in the morning or just before close.
Not all 24 hour franchises are 24 hour, not even 24 hour fitness. You gotta check the individual gyms.
PF is cheap, but they try to jew you with an annual pass. You do not wanna go to PF for a year.
24 is nice. You can get a costco pass which ends up being really check monthly.
One near me has barbells, but I go to a judo/gym one so I don’t use it.
