Most people won't build more than 30 pounds of muscle anyway so it's easy to be in the proper BMI range provided you're lean. Most normal people can be up to about 20% body fat before being considered overweight, you just have to be a lot leaner.

Most people never get below 14% and assume that because they can see their abs vaugely in good lighting that they are much leaner than they really are. You end up with a warped idea of how much a lean person will weigh.

6'4" and 214 is pretty damn skinny. Not scrawny, but easily achievable in 6 months of hard work. Having said that I've been strictly doing kettlebell work and calisthenics trying to get back to that weight (I'm 6'4") but only because my dad died and I started thinking more about longevity and general fitness than being particularly muscular.
Self accomplishment? Did any of you miserable fucks ever consider to set yourselves a goal that doesn't exist solely in relation to other people?

When I started out at 60kg(132lbs) 180cm(5'11) I gained 6kg of weight in the first month and when the year was over i was 77kg LEAN, this might have to do with the fact that I am naturally skinny(not skinnyfat) but 2.2kg a year in your first year is a bullshit expectation if you're doing everything right.

Most women don't like "contest condition" and think its rather gross. They'd much prefer 10-15% body fat. Ask literally any women. Contest condition is unrealistic and not favorable at all unless your doing some dumb contest. If we're talking about "looking good", 10 to 15% body fat is the way to go.
