Fast is a thread for the discussion of intermittent fasting, fasting, water fasting, and dry fasting.

Read all of these, they might answer some other questions you may want to ask.

Take snake juice, or just supplement electrolytes.

>Potassium chloride =1 tsp (No Salt)
>Sodium chloride = 1/2 tsp (Himalayan Pink Salt)
>Sodium Bicarbonate = 1 tsp (Baking Soda)
>Magnesium Sulphate = 1/2 tsp (Food Grade Epsom Salts)
Mix these in 2L of water and sip it throughout the day.
[OPTIONAL] 2 tbsp Apple cider vinegar and 4 tbsp lemon juice. DO NOT MIX with snake juice, drink separately. May add 1/4 tsp baking soda.
You can also do this if you feel lightheaded, weak, dizzy, nauseous, etc., on shorter water fasts. Don’t do this while intermittent fasting.

No. You don't have the willpower to fast that low.

Yes, headarse.

>Can I drink coffee, tea, and diet soda? Or anything with artificial sweeteners?
You can do whatever the fuck you want. We recommend avoiding those, sweeteners especially.

Water fasted since January 1st. Starting weight was 96.2kg. Wanted to go for 7 days but cut it short. Hunger was manageable, so was tiredness and dizzyness. Insomnia wasn't, haven't had a good night sleep in 5 days and I felt like trash. I broke fast with an epic keto feast of steak, grilled camembert, bacon, brocilli, chili relleno and fried onions - definitely the best aspect of this whole ordeal. Switching to PSMF now, might be using water fasting in the future but most likely won't be going over 48h.

LOL wrong. You lose less muscle while fasting than eating at maintenance. I have gained muscle, and I fasted 12 days in Dec.

Finally got all my snake juice stuff, starting a 3-5 day tomorrow and see how I go after that.. Can't wait to not be a FATTY.

So 2 of my friends came to me recently wanting to lose weight for their wedding in a year or so. Cole's approach of 'SNAKE JUICE TIL YOUR LEAN' probably would probably scare them off in the beginning so I've decided to put them on a daily IF routine with a 4 hour eating window, with the plan to get them on snake juice in the future when they start getting excited about results.

Have any of you coached other people with their weight loss? Did you have any issues?

Bulking on refeeds has allowed me to simultaneously lose fat and gain muscle.

As long as you're calorie deficient you'll lose weight. Fasting is really irrelevant, only thing good about it is that it puts you into ketosis which makes you not hungry but you can reach ketosis by eating little or no carbs. If you feels good and you're calorie deficient you're good to go.

If your goal is to lose weight without losing muscle, then fasting is relevant. If your goal is to prevent, even cure, cancer, then fasting is relevant. If your goal is to get rid of dead cells, excess nutrients and other garbage, then fasting is relevant. If your goal is to allow your organs, bones and muscles to heal faster & better, then fasting is relevant. If your goal is to improve circulation, then fasting is relevant. If your goal is to extend your lifespan, then fasting is relevant. If your goal is to stimulate stem cell production and neuronogenesis, then fasting is relevant. If your goal is to increase HGH production, then fasting is relevant.

Was really surprised to see myself under 200 yesterday, after not scaling myself for awhile I would have guessed I was around 210, so 199 with shoes n clothes

After a while you might start to feel like chit and get headaches but if you drink the juice you’ll feel godly again

I will have a pretty tight schedule at work, is it safe to eat only after 18.00 and stop before midnight? is this what intermittent fasting is called? is there a benefit to this? will I become a skeleton after months of this?

It's at a low enough point where muscle growth isn't obscured by fat. I am on the road to 12%, I started at about 19-20%.

Is OMAW (one mean a week) okay? I think I can go more than that, since I am never hungry but I am scared of vitamin and micronutrient deficiencies since I don't drink snek joos, only water and tea (without sweet stuff ofc). At 6 days rn and wondering whether I will fuck something up by not having a normal intake of anything.

What do you think the purpose of fatty tissue stores on the body is? This is the same reason weight loss studies frequently record increases in LBM when the participants also engage in resistance training despite widespread assertion by morons that you cant build muscle and lose fat at the same time.

However, for pure fasting it does leave the question of where the positive nitrogen balance comes from, so im inclined to say hes mistaking more pronounced musculature from lower bodyfat for gains.

Why am I not losing weight. My scale has not moved in 4 days. 4 fucking days of not eating only to look at the scale and see the same number. Today it read 1lb less which is something. But this is ridiculous. My first fast I lost 8lbs by this point.

shit just werks. My pinch-test is enormously reduced and I barely have any pinchable chub left. My appetite is also destroyed along with all junk food cravings. I just want you guys to know you're appreciated.

What are the benefits of fasted workouts? Is it good to do a fasted workout, and eat at a deficit the next day rinse repeat? Trying to lose weight no tgain muscle.

After the five day fast I'm heading straight to keto omad. I'm already exercising.

Starvation starts when you’ve depleted your fat and start to consume muscles and organs. It’s also involuntary. Not the same as fasting.

Hi /fast/, when you say "water fasting" you just mean "mix up that concoction in the OP and have only that for as many days as you can handle"? Can I drink additional water and if so should it be plain water or the electrolyte mix? Is there anything I can add to that mix that will make it more palatable? I get the feeling the worst part of it for me will be drinking saltwater.

Broke the fast. Won't give up, will try again in next few days. Will remain sugar-free first (this helped in previous fasts) and consume/give/throw away food in the apartment.

Do 72hours and refeed on a few eggs then hit another 72 hours. Itll be a lot more effective than a straight 5 day fast.

Look if you don't want to fast then don't, but don't eat breakfast an hour later than usual and then claim you're fasting because you're really not.

Just eat at maintenance every other day. I'm currently fasting on my rest days while bulking on my workout days.

It's significantly worse because it's not even fasting you absolute moron. Stop eating for a few days so all the fat deposited in your brain can melt away and you can start thinking clearly again. 8 hours is the BARE MINIMUM and that's just for maintaining, if you're cutting you're looking at OMAD minimum.

I'd be cautious with fasting and meds. You should probably w8 until the sickness is gone and fast after it OR keep the meds away entirely. Also some meds like ibuprofen are bad for your stomach, so it depends on what the pills do exactly.

If I did a water fast for 3 days, during which I also did light cardio and weightlifting, how much fat would I lose over that time period? Is it even worth it or should I just keep doing a low-cab IF cut?

I'm at the same level and I implemented 2 30h fasts (2x1 day of not eating) to push below 10% again. Would do 36h, but I have my leg day workout in the morning after, so I need to eat before that.

Different user, but you simply won't enter a fasted state (ketosis, autophagy etc.). It's too short. It's not fucking fasting. Read up on timing for IF and fasting in general.
