MMA fags

MMA fags,

For cardio days, should I run/bike/swim, or just run? My heart rate doesn’t get very high from swimming or biking.

Thoughts?

Jump rope.

>My heart rate doesn’t get very high from swimming or biking.

Push yourself harder then.

Get on that one bike thing for your arm. Jumping rope is good. You can't just run though. If you ever seen that one video of Nick Diaz working the speed bag for literally 20 minutes, that's what you should strive for.

ask a real athlete or trainer
MMA fighters and their trainers are all total fucking retards

she has bigger arms and waist then most guys

>i don't understand and their training is different from strength training so they're retarded
you're a fucking moron kys

For boxing you do roadwork and jump rope. Can’t be too different for mma.

>he fell for meme functional training

Do cycling and running, but each on separate cardio days and always finish every session off with a jumprope workout thats enough to really tire your calfs out from it.That should definitely be enough to cover good cardio levels. Anything more isnt really necessary.

Always remember to push yourself each time such as getting a quicker time or longer distance than last in every workout

why don't you just punching bag?

How to jump rope? Should I do multiple sets starting out at a certain length, or just jump 'till I can't jump no more?

Do around 5x 3 minute rounds.

If your heart rate doesn’t get high enough from swimming or biking then try different types of cardio until you find it, duh.

Doing sprints in a HIIT style of running balls to the walls for 30-60 seconds and then jogging for 2-3 minutes and repeating that cycle 3 or 4 times will up your cardio capacity while keeping your body in an anabolic state. Repeatedly punching/ kicking/ kneeing/ etc a bag for 30 seconds straight and then practicing a defense stance for 30 seconds before hitting the bag again works. Avoid steady state cardio while training for a sport that requires a high but steady heart rate with sudden bursts of energy output. Train in a High Intensity Interval Training manner because that’s what fighting is.

From a health standpoint it's good to mix it up. Too much running on roads does damage your knees in the longterm.

Beach and hill running are GOATtier.

It's crazy how people over complicate things.

There's no secret method or better method. Champions do what they do, because it works.

The ones who believed they could do different training methods are all wiped out in the amateur level.

Any one who wants to do cardio to prepare for fights should have a look at this.
It's a program specifically for running and improving your cardio when in the ring

If your heart rate doesn’t get high from swimming, you aren’t training right.

> t. used to be an international standard swimmer

Yes. To all of it.

>My heart rate doesn’t get very high from swimming or biking.
Then you should bike and swim harder.

more like you suck amirite :^)

>For cardio days, should I run/bike/swim, or just run?
Doesn't matter.

>Thoughts?
You are probably not going fast enough, try riding 20 miles in one hour for starters.
Bump it up to 25 miles in one hour if it is still not going up.

>what is the art of expressing the human body.pdf

1. find the road with the highest difference in elevation
2. ride your bike up there
3. watch some twink on a mommy-bike pass you
4. try to catch up to that twink
5. fail at doing so

Run. McGregor stopped running after he tored his acl and look at how his cardio went to shit. It's for a reason that most pro boxers say that what they spend the most time on is roadwork

In cycling there is something called "cadence" it is how often per minute you spin your cranks.
For starters you should stay between 80-90 rpm to get some more load on your cardiovascular system.
You can go higher if you want, but that will get tough above 150 rpm.
Personaly my maximum is 200 rpm, I can't do it for long as it is verry exausting, it is when your legs get all blurry from the speed.

Is jump rope good overall cardio for fitness?
Or is running / biking / swimming much better

Whatever gets your heartrate up, although jumping the rope for one hour straight sounds boring as fuck.

>Swimming doesnt get my heart rate up
Mate, I do breast stroke and my hr can go up to 140+.
Just stroke faster and harder instead of floating and moving your arms a bit.

What stretches do any of you do after cardio?
Does it matter?

>If it's not powerlifting it's a waste of time

Cyclist here, my highest on the bike was 214 bpm.
When going that high you feel your blood rushing through your vessels.v

I do biking on those bikes at the gym. I put it on really high resistance and just put in the work. Been as high as 210 BPM. But I think my heart rate increases pretty quickly since even as a beginner it was getting really high like 180/190. Gives an amazing leg pump too. Anyone know if it is a bad exercise? I haven't got any injuries yet but still

This. Crawl hard and fast.
