do you mean hip flexors? how did you manage to activate quads? also cable chops are good
Maybe. All I know is that my legs burn as all hell doing raises before my lower abs even start to sweat.
Also, I have an issue with cable chops, and facepulls for that matter. I struggle to keep stable if I load enough weight to feel I'm doing work, I keep slipping towards the machine. Other than getting new shoes or placing plates between the machine and my feet, how can I stop this?

i don't like l-sits or hanging leg raises, i never get sore from them and I feel that the hip flexors are simply too heavily involved to make abs the true limiting factor.
i go for weighted ab wheel rollouts and cable crunches for ab hypertrophy. for bracing strength/harder contractions I go for high Z pin presses and beltless zercher squats
on the face pull issue, try going into a quarter squat position instead of standing upright. should make it easier to stay rigid.

Jayhawk situp (do a sit-up holding a 45lbs plate above head) and hanging leg raises to the bar you’re holding onto
Hanging swing ups. Hang from your pullup bar, straighten one leg and then swing, straighten, and press as vertical as you can. Used to do it when I pole vaulted back in highschool

Gym has one of these. Does it have any benefit over leg raises? Idk about cringe factor.
