Farmers walk is the most underrated exercise, period. If you're not doing these after every workout you're fucking retarded.

if you're able to do them after every workout you're not going heavy enough

i get anxiety about walking across the gym multiple times in a row.

Patrician taste, love farmer carries and this pic.

Broscience.

do you also happen to love dick?

Why is her jaw open and neck forward. That's not how you're supposed to do it

Someone on fit said I shouldn't do them because I don't dl 4pl8
He said I need to learn to walk before I can run, but walking was standing up and running was walking... Very confusing.
Anywho how much weight should I do and how far per "rep"?

I just take the weight that I can hold in my hands for 50 steps without a grip failure.

High weight, long time or short time and lower weight?

>That's not how you're supposed to do it
It's a crossfit pic, form is irrelevant, I posted it for my fellow varbie fans.

>Patrician
>Imitating a serf carrying a load

Pick one

Start with either: a plate in each hand or the heaviest kettlebell/dumbbell you can carry for a set distance.

Never going to make it. Indulge in your Jow Forumsness autism and make Zyzz proud of you.

Just go to a climbing gym, it does the same shit and doesn’t make you look like a queer

what do these even do lol maybe strengthen your grip but thats it

>playing on childrens rock walls with soiboys and women
>not queer

>tfw my family actually owns a farm and I do landscaping for them on weekends to help out

cutting down pine trees and carrying them uphill to burn in a pit is deceptively hard

DBs in my gym don’t go heavy enough to make them worthwhile

Grip and traps. Crazy effective for both.

You need a trap bar to load up enough weight for any effect.

I already want one for deadlift, and you say this.
Don't do this to me breh.

curious he thinks of 3D women while I think of 2D ones

You could market the farmers life as a new workout routine and get people to work on your farm AND PAY YOU FOR IT!

You unironically could do this as a fitness bootcamp... but you'd have to make everything excessively physical, even if it means take technological steps backwards.

>tfw farmer
>some twinks have explicitly do a "workout" I consider my everyday work
Imagine being this much of a husk of a man.

Nah dude farmer carries are more about building endurance and tenacity. My dad used to curl 5 gallon buckets of milk on his carry while when I was young I couldn't even make it from barn to barn but you just do it every day twice a day and the gainz they come.
This plus people are tremendous pussies despite what they front and nobody wants to pay to do the dirtiest work which is the hardest.

How much of a load should you be carrying with a farmers walk? How do you know you have enough and how do you know that you don't have too much?

>pick a distance
>walk it

If you could barely do it and almost had to put the weights down because grip was failing, its good. If it was easy, you need more weight or longer distance.

>start doing farmers walks
>get tennis elbow
Thanks Jow Forums

You know you have too much when you can't maintain good posture the whole time. Chest out shoulders back scapulas pinched and retracted. People will try to use grip as an indicator but your posture will break before your grip does and you don't wanna be walking around underload with bad posture snap city baby.

Maybe at your gym faggot but some people's gyms like mine have dumbells as high as 80pounds

Noted, load as to where it's a moderate strain to reach your distance goal, but not enough to break your posture.

Any sort of recommendations for how far you should be going for it to really be a good middle-ground for building endurance with a proper load?

How do you avoid this? Just don't overdo shit and make sure you have proper rest days, right?

Also wondering this

I do a lap of the gym with 28kg dumbells. Eventually I reach failure before I finish a lap

Exactly. If you can carry a heavy weight over a long distance, why not literally take 2 steps back and carry a light weight over a short distance

I can't do farmer walks after deadlift days because my callous are killing me.
What else can i do to prevent grip loss? I'm already using chalk and put all leg accessories in between, but fingers still hurt

>80

My gym has up to 120s. Nice fag gym you got there

Excellent excersise

thank you based varbie poster

I did this for the first time a few days ago
Ill probably do them at least once a week now
went up to 110kg on the hex bar and walked like 30-40 steps probably
repeated it like 4 times

I usually do farmers carries in a ladders fashion. So 1st set would be 1 carry for 50 feet, 2nd set would be 1 carry for 50 feet×2 all the way up to 5 and then back down to 1. I actually use farmers walks implements though. This can be done with a yoke and sandbag too

Trap bars are the best for this. DBs get unbalanced and scrape up against your legs.

The downside is that the turf area in my gym for sleds where it makes sense to do these always has a ton of qts there. This leads to me loading 4 plate onto the bar because it looks much more impressive but I can't actually carry it very far before my grip goes. I think it's a 15 yard strip and no way can I make it there and back.

>tfw resolutioner tried to farmers walk on the treadmill and put it out of order for two weeks when he dropped a fucking kettle bell on it.

>not just thinking of your ideal rather than some irl roastie or 2D drawing made up by a greasy jap
That having been said, good taste in waifu

File your calluses down.

Yes, but you want to be doing them with heavy weight. Bodyweight in each hand is a good goal to shoot for.

My dick is deceptively hard after admiring that picture

roiding for this
