Is soy bad?

The memes are cool and all, even though i don’t consume it, I’d like to know what it actually does? I know it has estrogen and shit but is it bad?

I only know one thing: studies have shown that regular consumption can reduce DHT and T in some individuals.

And what does that mean

eating foods that contain some onions isnt bad but making your diet mostly consist of onions is

wait why is my post fucked, onions is replaced with onions

Kek.

guys its still doing it, im spooked

Jack Lalanne drank onions milk. /thread

try reading up for at least 10 seconds if youre interested in something before bothering other people with it
if you dont even know what t and dht are (and are too lazy to google this) wtf are you asking questions on hormones for

Sōyboy.

Not all people produce equol (the estrogen that lowers your androgens). Search low DHT and T symptoms.

söy is a bean
if it actually had feminizing properties like increasing breast size it would be the most used supplement on the planet
but it doesn't and it isn't
your gallon of literal breast milk for baby cows a day is what's gonna give you hormonal issues, not beans

What about flax?

It's exaggerated to oblivion because of the soiboy meme. Eating söy every now and then has no effect on the hormones. It contains something called isoflavone (phyto/xenoestrogen) and is structurally similar to estradiol. In theory, it could have estrogenic effects or may even be anti-estrogenic (too many bio-variables to consider). Many people don't even have the enzyme necessary to absorb isoflavones.
People should worry more about the estrogenic effects of beer. That shit gives you bitch-tits.

However, people constantly worrying/stressing about every single thing they consume is worse for the body.

Flax's lignans have shown to be actually anabolic in rats, they upregulate estrogen receptor activity in skeletal muscle tissue specifically for whatever reason and it seems to be the way it promotes higher muscle protein synthesis, they have the same binding action of xenoandrogens such as ecdysteroids found in insects and some plants which despite being technically "male" hormones they mostly just bind to estrogen receptors in skeletal muscle tissue.

Real answer: it doesn't actually affect estrogen levels in men that study was based on sheep and other animals, it's neither good nor bad but if you want to drink it it's not like you'd magically gain boobs and an a feminine voice

Jow Forums answer: onions bad

I forgot it was censored SOYY

the exact opposite of what you would expect

flax oil seems to be insanely androgenic in bulls at least, not sure about humans

it's a meme dude
tofu is pretty good cheap protein once in a while

Not right. Onions and other products are reccomended to omen with hormone problems to increase there estrogen.

skim milk is also not recommended to pregnant women, while whole milk is
take a guess why

the only hormone that boosts breast growth is prolactin, and only one foodgroup has prolactin in it or other similar hormones such as progesterone, and that's dairy.
in all cases of male gynecomastia, the single cause of it all is elevated prolactin levels, every single one of them.
Prolactin levels might be elevated from other indirect causes like drugs for depression and mental illness but that's because prolactin is sorta connected with dopamine.

regular masturbation/intercourse, weed, dairy foods(specially fat dairy), medication, all of these are the main cause of feminizing effects in modern men.

It's like most things. It doesn't have a significant effect in isolation, but in a nexus of other things it can and does have a significant effect on your testosterone.

But most of the damage can be undone by weightlifting and actually doing cardio. The only really concerning thing is plastic water bottles and the kind of shit that's in tap water but honestly you can't really avoid one without going to the other unless you buy an expensive filter.

Also t-production has a lot to do with whether you *need* high t. If the only strain in your life is one or two hours work in an air conditioned gym and the rest of the time you're well-fed, sexually satisfied, and mostly sedentary, you need absolutely zero t. This increasing level of comfort is 100% the real reason for dropping test levels, not chemicals in the environment (which have an effect, but nothing like the effect that these lifestyle changes have had)

But then you have to question how much high t is worth it. I think there should be more manual jobs (which would drastically improve test), but I wouldn't want one myself. Simply because I'd rather have my middling test and have the energy to pursue academic shit (which is what really interests me) rather than be high test but exhausted at the end of the day from exertion.

This kind of went wildly off away from onions, but the point is that exhaustion would be immensely satisfying for a lot of people, as would their increased test, but it comes with trade offs in terms of ability to pursue other avenues of life. And imo the only real way to improve test significantly is hard labour outdoors, plus fasting and moderate sexual abstinence

This!
People blame everything else for the decline of testosterone in western men when the biggest factor of them all is the extreme increase in sedentary lifestyle and obesity. All the other external factors are microscopic compared to that.

Onions is bad
