How to learn power clean?

That's a woman's chore
Read that chapter on Starting Strength and watch youtube videos. Start with 10lbs bumper plates and git gud. If that fails, talk to a PT.
Watch YouTube vids like this guy recommended They are really helpful and I learned how to power clean easily, with my weight level now at 170lbs
Just throw the bar up
what's the difference between the clean in the C&J and a power clean? As ELI5 as you get
There's no difference in the pull, only in the catch.
and what's the difference in catching between the two
I can power clean easily now, my stupid question is, can I power clean to a straight OHP?
clean catches low, power catches high. It's whether or not you pull and instantly go to maximal depth in your front squat. Power cleaning has fewer mobility demands but you can move more weight with the olympic clean.
The way Rip teaches the power clean is dogshit. He confuses extension and dropping under the bar with 'jumping' and it leads to pure autism.
Can I get a form check?
Bit more weight, should make whatever mistake more apparent
How do I pull myself under the bar properly? There's literally no time
When the bar reaches your chest height, you go "under it" take a look here. *i KNOW* it's not the same exercise, but look at the movement he does
arent you supposed to overhead press it?
you look like you've never squatted in your life are you even able to sit down on a chair?
He's just practicing.
My question is.....how can I learn power clean (although I like more clean & jerk) without getting my ass into a crossfit gym?
Seems traditional, olympic gyms are gone nowadays.
What does squatting have to do? Even on the eccentric, you think about going up, not down
Why does Rippletits hate everything that normal bodybuilders, who actually look like they lift, like.
Some people say they have great results with bent over rows, but the fat coach says that they're terrible.
Elbows should come forward more, so you catch the bar with your shoulders. Your ass should come backwards when you get under the bar. Make it so you could transition into a front squat if you wanted to
I just looked for a shitty gym, with the most fucked up machines, rustled up bars/pl8s and joined it. If you asked around for spot/tips to any PT in any of these "big" gyms they'll most likely hand you a pamphlet for the crossfit class
>You don't need it dog
>Just do barbell rows
they said.
you can do whatever you want
thanks, mom
Mirin osso buco.
Rows don't exercise the same muscular groups as a proper Power Clean. That's literally the reasoning from the book. Stop being autistic.
I think I've got how the elbows should be, but my fingers keep slipping. Last rep I had to carry it to the rack
C'm on, this was hilarious!
Stop jumping forward. Matter of fact, extend through your knees and ankles rather than jump-thrusting the weight with your hips. Your shoulders ought to stay over the bar 'covering it' all the way up until it makes contact with your high thigh at which point you'd extend. To practice 'pulling yourself' under the bar do air squats with the focus being on jumping down into the bottom position of a front squat. Do these a few times before you do cleans, then practice some muscle cleans (no extension/jumping) then combine the two by muscle cleaning then rapidly jumping down into the bottom position. Practice this with a barbell then apply it to your cleans. Pressure is also midfoot not on the heels.
Will keep in mind next time, thanks
