Accutane

My doctor is about to put me on a ~6 month cycle of Acctuane, this because of my rather severe back acne. I really look forward to being fee of acne but I'm a bit concerned about the cycle itself. I've for example heard that alcohol is completely prohibited to consume during the cycle(is this cuz accutane hits the liver?). I'm also wondering if any of you smoked weed during your accutane cycles and if this had any bad effects on anything? Anything else i should be aware about?

Is that anton delucv? That dude always has crazy hair.

He had a super high volume metrosexual paintbrush hair 2 years ago and now he has a faggot tumblr lgbtq+ bowlcut.

Yes Accutane wrecks the liver that's why no alcohol. Weed will be fine though, but smoking and smoking weed itself is a cause for acne so you better don't.

Quitting drinking is really easy if you don't party with frats everyday in uni. Assuming you're not an alcoholic and just enjoy drinking. Just don't buy it.

>acne is basically pic related (no nose acne) plus fungal on the forehead and shoulder acne
Shit. Did I waste my college years not doing accutane? I went to a derma and they just gave me a sulfur ointment that did jack shit.

Dont fucking do it bro. I took accutane in highschool and literally had no idea what being sad was before I took it. It fucks you up makes you super dry and is simply not worth it. I swear it fucks with your brain chemistry. Just try taking cold showers everyday and not using so much soap. I did this and my acne cleared up in weeks (accutane got rid of most of my acne but as I got older started breaking out on my shoulders). Cold showers bro, dont take these nazi drugs. Please

what the fuck this guy looks exactly like a brown-eyed version of me with a longer face

It also made me noticeably weaker. I was a 3 sport athlete in highschool and moved onto collegiate. So I know my body very well and accutane made it feel like I was going to start pulling all my muscles and I couldnt train as hard. Obviously it effects everyone differently but this is my experience and I hope you dont take it, as do my other friends who took it in high school.

I'm not a frequent smoker but I enjoy it from time to time. Not more than once a week at most.

Well my friends really enjoy having a good drink and so do I, will be straight with everyone though, I'm currently taking extreme medication and can't take those shots with you.

Don’t take accutane, it’s unnatural as fuck and you can easily fix your skin health by getting one th if natural vitamin A and D, as opposed to the synthetic form of A accutane has that isn’t even bioavailable for the body, nor does it have the fat required to absorb it and utilize what little vitamin A is in there.

For healthy skin, just TRY this for a a week or two and you’ll see results

Eat a small bit of grass fed liver everyday. Just go to a farm nearby, or call them up asking if they have organ meats and if they are grass fed until they die.

Get as much sunlight as possible. The sun will never hurt you, it’s literally the giver of all life and energy.

Stop consuming useless, inflammatory food with zero nutrition. Veggies are useless in comparison to meat and with just ferment in your stomach. Seeds and nuts are for birds and horses. Fruits are just sugar. Organs, muscle meat and dairy are nutritionally complete. Fish and fish roe are necessary as well.

Also, I’ve found that not using shampoo over he last four months has added a natural fullness and retention of shale to my relatively shortish hair, but that’s not skin related

Also accutane has been shown to produce rough side effects and won’t always help anyways. Why douse yourself with chemicals when you have everything you need to be naturally healthy and beautiful?

My friends were the same way, quitting drinking was still super easy. Groups pressure you into it but friends will listen to you if you explain your liver is currently shriveling away from your accutane.

I quit just to save money.

I greatly appreciate this, but I have actual severe acne. The type of acne that results in blood stains on my bed sheets each night. I've already cycled antibiotics for my acne but they didn't work, I'm doing accutane.

It's my best option.

Don't do it, user. No drinking, it wrecks your liver and probably your gut, you will get super dry skin and lips, and you get sunburn incredibly easily.

I did it and the results were marginal at best. Total regret.

Changing my diet and stopping shampoo and other harsh skin treatments are the only things that ever helped my acne.

Good luck, bro.

Sounds like you need to take the neckpill then bro

Look at all these people telling you not to do it. Please dont take accutane. I know how it feels man and Im telling you I wish I would have put up with my acne instead of taking it. I too had bloodstains on my sheets and shirts. Cold. Showers. Just try it before you take a drug that will change you permanently and might not even work

>Accutane

OP DON’T DO IT PLEASE YOU WILL GO BALD, SHIT YOUR ORGANS OUT AND KILL YOURSELF. NOT EVEN MEMEING.

It’s completely abhorrent that this drug is still on the market.

>I wish I would have put up with my acne instead of taking it.

Why? What happened to you

My dad was also a guinea pig for the drug back in the 80s. Dont fucking do it (all memers in this thread aside).

I’m at uni and in several sports teams and got on accutane 6 months ago. It affects everyone differently, but I drank heavily several days in a row every week to no adverse effects. The only difference I noticed was that my hangovers got 10x worse and I was basically knocked out all day if I went heavy the night before. Smoked a fair bit of weed too and there were no side effects whatsoever.

Accutane was one of the best things I ever did, my confidence has grown and grown and now I feel absolutely amazing. I really recommend it user.

I literally did not know what being sad was until I took accutane and it hindered my high school athletic career. I can only imagine how chad my life would be without taking it. I look chad, but my social skills are shit because the drug sent me into depression during crucial social ages.

Oh and I suggest looking into alternatives. I've visited 3 dermatologists for a total of 8 times and not once did any of them suggest accutane. Maybe a lighter retinoid would be better if it's really bad. Accutane will make you purge along with the other symptoms basically the entire cycle as well.

It also didnt fully clear my acne...

I did 6 months of Accutane (not the actual brand) for severe acne that nothing seemed to work on. Its been about a year since I got off it and I don't think there have been any lasting side effects, and my acne has been clear ever since apart from very minor spots. While I was on it I had alcohol a few times but I would definitely avoid it at all costs. As far as side effects during treatment, my eyes, lips, and nose became incredibly dry, and I lost my sense of smell for a few months; however, I was depressed before the cycle and if anything it only got better after taking it. Good luck if you choose to try it.

This is beyond trolling. This is borderline evil.

>I lost my sense of smell

Dear god, is there anything this monster drug won’t fuck up?

Seriously. Some people do have an okay experience with it, but everyone I talk to says it was not worth it. We all agree. PLEASE DONT TAKE IT

I forgot to include in the OP that I'm being prescribed isotretinoin, which I think is accutane?

Don't listen to this skin goblin OP, just fucking do it.

I got most well-known side effects on 20mg doses, I wouldn't recommend very high doses like I've seen people say they're on. 60-100mg seems insane to me but my acne wasn't that severe.
Cleared up everything around my mouth and back which I suffered most from. Still get some zits but it's a blessing compared to how it used to be, about 90% effective in my case and don't really regret doing it.

I did expect to be happier and more confident as everything cleared up but that wasn't the case unfortunately. All those embarrassing and unhappy years as a zitface took a toll on me

Im spamming this fucking thread and I never post on this board. Im this fucking passionate about telling people not to take this fucking drug. Im literally begging you not to take it, its your own fault if you do though

Is 3 months into a cycle too late to quit?

I am on it currently.
Don't do it. Vanity is weakness. Just deal with it

Im currently on month 3/6 of isotretinoin/accutane. Does have some side effects like dry around the mouth, and watery eye. Also doctor meant i was mildy depressed, but it has helped a lot

It's never too late to quit

Dont listen to all the scaremongering. Its a fucking miracle drug. I was hospitalised after my severe acne got infected and I got Impetigo. 80mg of accutane for 6 months cleared it and its never come back. All the suicidal stuff is bullshit you feel great cause your skin is clearing, you don't have to wash your hair very often cause it stops getting oily.

The liver stuff is overhyped, my liver values never went out of normal range on it.

All the bad stuff people have said are POSSIBLE sides, vitamin c tabs CAN cause a heart attack, doesnt stop people spamming that in winter

This guy is a severe case and/or lucky. Dont do it OP just take cold showers and your acne will get better. It shrinks your pores and allows your body to start reproducing oils naturally instead of overproducing and being burned from the hot water.

Cold showers are basically a natural accutane, which I'm pretty sure acts to change the molecular structure of your pores. Its fucking bad. Dont take it.

I'm getting good results with minimal side effects. I wouldn't want to quit now if the damage is already done and I only stand to gain by finishing the cycle.

This post was meant for:

If it's not fucking you up continue using it. The doctor should be monitoring you to make sure you're okay.

How many milligrams were you guys prescribed? I've heard that your dose is calculated after your weight, I'm about 83kg 6'1 what do u think my dose will be?

You should have a very clean life style. Lots of sleep lots of water and no alcohol. Accutane fucked up my liver

My weight is 75kg, and I got 20mg. Btw don't take vitamin A supplements on the side if you do accutane

I'm concerned it might be affecting my lifts though. I'm not experienced enough yet in lifting to know if I'm losing strength and missing reps because of it.

20mg for the first couple of months. Around 90kg but I don't think the dose was scaled to that.

Forgot we were on Jow Forums

Well you're on Accutane because you want to take the nuclear option. I'd say if it's working it's worth less gainz for half a year. If you feel like it's hurting your strength let your doctor know. Liver, dryness and heavy purging are the primary side effects if I remember correctly.

RIP. you will regret it for the rest of your life. it's basically like finasteride. i know that i'm going to get a million replies saying that this is a troll etc, but you should really try reading some of ray peat's articles on reducing estrogen, which is what is causing your acne. you probably won't believe me though and go on chemically castrating yourself

>less gainz for half a year.
I could deal with that but an user above said he thinks he had permanently weaker lifts because of it.

>If you feel like it's hurting your strength let your doctor know
If I told him he'd just tell me to scale back to doing cardio or lifting baby weights.

i smoked all through the 6 months and it never did anything, liver results came back normal, i drank too, not heavily and not frequently and didn't do anything either. I did have to get a second blood test one time due to elevated enzymes but they came back normal on the second test so was nothing.

There's been A LOT of research on Isotretinoin and what it does to your body, reduced strength and or size is not a known side effect.

Why are so many people against accutane? It is the only thing that ever cleared up my terrible acne. Acne is mostly due to shitty genetics, if you're able to fix your shitty genetics do it.

Pores don't open or close.

I don't know man, the effects are different on everybody hence why it's cycled under doctor supervision. If you are experiencing a dramatic loss of strength while on it and your doctor says just lift less that's them ignoring a side effect. You got to tell your doctor either way.

Again, strength loss might just be a result of the toll it takes on your body. But I have never heard of permanent strength loss as a side effect like said. It's probably something else and you just think it's the medication.

>I did expect to be happier and more confident as everything cleared up but that wasn't the case unfortunately. All those embarrassing and unhappy years as a zitface took a toll on me

i hope this isn't the case for me. some days when my skin clears I get super happy, then when my skin is worse i get depressed. so i hope that when it clears completely im not left with a mentally fucked self image of myself.

my parents never had acne and my sister never had acne and as far as im aware my grandparents on either side never had acne either, so how can it be genetic unless it's recessive

it's one guy spamming the entire thread cause his shit genetics responded poorly to accutane

probably this

>Acne is mostly due to shitty genetics
I don't know about this. A guy I know is unironically god-tier genetics, he's 6'3, greek god face, broad shoulders(not Jow Forums broad, real broad), perfect form, fucks like crazy.

oh and he has pretty bad acne.

Just drink a lot of water

To help acne or to deal with side effects?

>fucks like crazy.
How you know this

i know girls who have taken his cock and he brags about it

Read what it did to James from Twin Peaks.

To deal with side effects. It will dry out your skin like a desert. Also use something for your lips because they tend to crack.
