Curling while standing works your short head better and curling at a 45 degree incline seated works your long head better. I like to hit the long head with dumbbells and the short head with the barbell curl.

I started Reg Parks 5x5 last week. Next week I will start school, and i am thinking of enrolling to a swimming clinic. It fits perfectly on tuesdays and thursdays to add some cardio. Is it ok? Or should I rest completely on those days if I'm doing the 5x5?

Make sure you're buying in season fruit too, fruit skyrockets in price regardless of where you live when seasons change. This is a pretty good guide, you can ignore the whole "clean"/"dirty" organic BS on there, it doesn't really matter in the end.

I popped something in my lower back during a deadlifting warmup set about a month ago. Shit was fucking excruciating. Was literally bed ridden for about 3 days then slowly got movement back through active isolated stretching. Now i've started light upper body the last week and it's going okay until i stiffen up by the end of my workout. How long should i wait until i start training legs/back? Really quite scared of hurting my back again because the waves of cramps i was getting at night were fucking unbelievable.

Agree with what these other user's have said. You should also be aware that you have anterior pelvic tilt, so train abs a lot, as this muscle group is most likely weak, and your hip flexors are what have to compensate for it. Also, be aware of your posture, as it is damn near impossible to do proper movements with heavy weights starting from bad posture. Eventually you're going to have to fix this.

Yeah, this should work, it's a very standard way of cutting, you probably won't gain a lot of muscle mass, though. But if you're in it for the long haul, you can also just start by bulking so you get more muscle mass. More muscle mass will mean you'll burn energy faster, which means you can cut while eating more later.

I fucking hate hanging leg raises. doing 3-5x10 twice a week rn. if I get an ab roller and go to failure at the end of every workout would that be enough to replace the leg raises? What do you think about nSun's 4 day 5/3/1? I'm currently on first cycle of begginer's 531 and feels like I'm not getting stronger. But if I go 4 days I'd need to care even more about sleep and diet to recover. Is it retarded to exchange these routines monthly depending on how busy I am this month or should I run few cycles of current program and then decide if I need additional day?

It was too much volume for me. Nsuns is modeled after sheiko, which is a program with volume not meant for natties. I was eating 4000kcal a day minimum and still could not recover in time. I ended up just doing 531 variants and love it.

Do SS until you milk it for everything it has. You do a beginner LP until you literally stop making gains after multiple deloads. I wish I still got noobie gains like I did while doing SL. 5-10lbs a session or even week is INSANE progress.

Not making progress on lifts or size? Because programs like SL and SS arent meant to give you massive size. Its to give you a baseline of strength. The theory is that in the long run its more efficient to take advantage of the crazy noob gains before moving into an intermediate program. Because intermediate programming won't max out the noob strength gains nearly as fast as a beginner program. You'll get much more out of your hypertrophy workouts if youre already trained to move way bigger weights. The typical advice is to stick with your beginner program until your lifts start to plateau. But I don't think theres anything wrong with adding accessory work if you want though. Just don't go nuts with it and take away from the main lifts

It's what I started off with. It's not really good for much besides getting a beginner comfortable with a more active lifestyle. As for how that kind of routine translates to barbell lifts, it's nothing special. A bit more than the average beginner but not by much. In my case I ended up with a disproportionately high bench.

Probably. Also you'll have to gain weight if you want to reach 1234. Without gaining weight, it will take more time. Remember to add volume and some accessory if you're running SS or SL type of training. 1234 is a goal but that doesn't mean it can be or should be done in less than a year. I suggest you see strength standards on symetric strength and exrx site for intermediate numbers.
