Hey Jow Forums, so basically this is more a question about general hygiene and maybe a bit about fitness. How do I clean myself? Do I shower every day and use shampoo, or do I shower every other day? Also should I shave? I mostly shave when my beard has grown really thick and long, and it fucking hurts.

When do I change my underwear? And do all of the normal stuff? Just keep posting general etiquette and hygiene stuff, because to be honest I know nothing. This is the result of being raised by a single redneck mother with no father figure.

Is this a joke? You already seem to know the answers

Shower every day, but shampoo every other day. Make sure to wash your dick and crack. Apply deodorant after your shower, and maybe again in the afternoon if you sweat hard. Shave every single day, beards are for hobos and fedoras. If you have a beard right now, it will be easier to shave it off if you trim it with scissors first. Brush your teeth twice a day. Change your clothes completely, including underwear, every day. Change them a second time after workouts (bring fresh clothes with you to the gym). If you need to buy more clothes, so be it. Cologne is optional but desirable. Florida water is a good noob cologne because of its pleasant scent, low price and resistance to overapplication.

You shower, shave, and change underwear every day. Shampoo a couple times a week.

shower every day, use conditioner every day but shampoo only every 2-4 days depending on how dry/oily your hair is. use a loofah or a washcloth to wash and exfoliate your body.

Hi there, no this is not a joke I am generally clueless and I have never been properly taught about anything. These things that I am telling you, are things I discovered or theorized as normal behaviour a few months ago.
Do I shampoo my ass crack or do I just water it down there? Also thank you for the general advice, I appreciate it!
Got it, thank you!
Exfoliate? Why would I do that? Also thank you!

dead skin sticks and adds weight to the surrounding skin. Not exfoliating is the best way to get wrinkles, scrape that shit off

Wait, what's wrong with using shampoo every day?

>He doesn't know why too much shampoo is bad

Cmon, guys, tell me. This is just a meme, r-right?

There is no good reason to wash your hair every day unless you work in an environment where literal shit, oil, grease, dirt, etc gets in it on a daily basis.

And if you have long hair and think you need to, your problem is that you have long hair. Get a men's haircut, faggot.

it just dries out your hair really bad and makes it frizzier. if you have straight hair and an oily scalp you're probably fine, but if you have curly or drier hair you should definitely not be doing this. i didn't realize how fucked up my hair was until i stopped washing it every day

I have thick curly hair and Hyperhidrosis, I need to wash it daily.

as someone with curly hair, you're really hurting yourself. use conditioner every day when you shower and scrub your scalp with it, wash with shampoo every couple of days.

Interesting, I'll give it a shot. Thanks bro.

You could use shampoo for your ass crack, but you might as well use whatever soap or shower gel you use for the rest of your skin.

Only 3% - 4% of men & women shower once a week, but you dont really need to shower every day. Just wash your feet & change your underwear because those areas are where the most bacteria like to gather. It also depends on what type of hair & body you have. Personally, I shower twice a week after the gym & change my underwear & socks every day or every 2 days also post workout. As far as shaving, I use Cremo & shave when i look like a Muslim. Hope this helps.

Yup. I just don't even shampoo anymore. I'll occasionally use conditioner but that's it. Every time I shampoo my hair gets fucked and is shit for a week or two. Of course still wash your hair with water.

If you have to shower every day, try washing your hair with Conditioner only. Only use shampoo if your hair is really dirty.

And yes, use conditioner.

Make sure you use products that work out for you. If your hair looks greasy/dull for weeks on end, change products. Avoid silicones.

Also get a body soap that works for you. If your skin is itchy and dry, change soap. You can wash your asscrack with soap but don't get soap on any tender bits ( anus or penis ). DO WASH YOUR ASSHOLE AND PENIS DAILY, JUST DON'T USE SOAP. Use babywipes after shitting to clean up asshole properly. Or bidet shower.

Get a special facial soap and do use that on your whole face every day. Preferably morning and evening. Moisturize after.

Brush teeth morning and evening at the very least. Also floss in the evening.

Beard, stubble or bare. Shave accordingly but make sure that the look suits you. If you literally have no jaw, grow a beard anyway. Beard should be tidy. No need to go Hipster with it but it shouldn't look like that of a hobo either. Never only have a mustache.

Change shirt daily if you sweat a lot. If you don't, every other day. Change pants once or twice a week depending on what you've been up to. Change underwear daily, no exceptions.

Do not try to hide poor hygiene with deodorants/cologne. People can tell. Also, if you do use cologne, tiny little spritz is enough.

Wash your laundry according to their labels, except for underwear and socks that you should always wash at at least 60c/140f.

Change your bed sheets once a week. Everything that touches your skin. Wash pillows etc. once a year. Air out mattress if possible once a year as well.

How do I know if my hair is dull? I just always just washed it whenever....

I've been tweaking my routine recently, this is what I do now.

Shower once per day, at night. I used to shower in the mornings because I'm lazy when I'm tired but showering at night has had huge improvements on my quality of sleep. My balls dont itch, it warms me up before getting into bed, I prefer sex when we're both fresh too. Fresh underwear for sleeping is also extra comfy and hygenic (and fresh underwear in the morning). This also keeps your bedding fresher for longer. Plus a bath on the weekends to deep soak.

When it comes to showering I only use normal soap, nothing fancy. I also shave my head so use someone elses advice when it comes to shampoo. Every other day is about right.

No deodorant or cologne. I'll wear it if it's a special event, or if I actually smell bad but generally there is no need for it. I also don't want that crap soaking into my skin every single day. I've had the same can of deodorant for about 3 years, I just don't use it. If I smell then I'll wash myself in the sink with soap and dry off.

To conclude:
> no deodorant unless you have something "natural" and neutral, use sparringly
> shower before bed
> change underwear every night and morning
> changing bedding every week (important)
> use simple soap, you can even make it yourself super cheap

Bonus
> Turn on night-mode on your phone and laptop to reduce blue light at night
> Use a lightbulb in your lamp/bedroom with a lower colour temperature

Taking steps to improve your sleep has such a huge impact on your mental acuity in the day time. I wouldn't skip improving this part of your routine.

Does it look nice, clean and shiny? Or dry and dull like dry grass.

I use shampoo everyday, and my hair is nice and smooth, and is enjoyable to touch. I used to wash my head once in a three days and it was greasy and gross.

Also for sleep take zinc, magniseum and melatonin (optional)
Has improved my sleep quality tremendously. Just buy them separately don't fall for the ZMA meme
