forgot to mention would like both endurance and speed
don't do the negative portion of lifts
example, drop the bar when deadlifting instead of lowering it
this grows muscles as little as possible while making them stronger
Interval sprints
Just don't go so slow
muscle density over size anything more you can elaborate onto this? this very important
I think I learned it from somebody on a Joe Rogan podcast, he didn't go into much detail because he sells that kind of training advice
also learn forefoot running if you haven't already
Try running often
HIIT I suppose. When I ran track we did lots of gassers, 100/200/300/400m sprints.
This guy is correct. Everyone else is stupid. Lifting might make your prints more explosive but if you just want a fast running time/explosive sprints you gotta run.
Interval sprinting will translate into faster speeds during endurance running.
Look up the book ‘Daniels Running Formula’ read it cover to cover and follow the 800m training as closely as you can.
Go to black neighborhoods and step on one of the black dudes Jordan’s and bounce like a jackrabbit.
thanks ive never really done much cardio but weirdly enough im faster than most people i know
how should i start interval sprints?
have you read it? whats the main focus of the book?
im glad to hear from someone who was in track but whats HIIT?
oh yeah joe always has stuff like that on his podcast he had one where they talked about volume of workouts not intensity for most muscle gain and it's 100% correct
>have you read it? whats the main focus of the book?
Yes. I’ve also heard him lecture and met him one on one. He’s coached an Olympic gold medalist in the marathon and college national championship teams and individuals at every level. His book is generally considered the Bible for middle and long distance running.
neat thanks will look into later
Not OP, but what's the consensus on treadmills?
I've heard they are bad for your joints, but fuck running outside with this weather to be honest.
Have you tried running?
gonna be honest had a tread mill b4 and the impact is like concrete so keep that in mind and it's not much of an adventure plus running in shit weather is fun sometimes even if you fall
just wear a coat warm enough to keep you warm but not so warm you sweat from exercise
get a tan
Treadmills have give to them. Pavement has none. That “bad for joints” argument doesn’t hold water.
Run as fast as you can and run almost as fast as you can multiple times a week.
This
Aswell as stop eating and start running from your rival tribe slaughtering your village
simple treadmill running or outdoors wearing a weighted vest. when your body is accustomed to carrying a heavier weight running and you remove it you'll be much faster
Faster sprint or faster distance?
Biggest thing you can do for sprinting is learn proper running technique, and then ensure your anearobic system is at its maximum potential.
This can be achieved with an 8 week plyometrics program program.
This will probably be satisfactory for you, if you already otherwise fit.
For distance its a case of building a good aerobic base, with some speed work thrown in (800 repeates etc).
Lifting will help, but not as much as running, until your very very quick.
>weighted vest
how do i make/get one
dude are you that retarded? you're on the internet try a search. most gyms have one anyways just ask if you're a member
